IT was no joy on Saturday with a second place the nearest I got to a winner.

Well done all who beat the bookies and let's hear your Sunday picks and chat.

My profit pot for August now sits at 27.96pts and my tip has now been posted.

Sorry they're late but I was suffering a Hibs hangover!

Johnb's Sunday Tip

  • Tramore 2.55
  • Hey Little Boy 13-8 NAP/NB William Hill (double stake)

Although it’s a big field it is a poor race that won’t take much winning, Hey Little Boy looks head and shoulders above these looking at his flat runs and will take some stopping.

In the big race of the day Aidan O’Brien’s decision for this race is great news for us Clemmie backers because if we didn’t know it before then we do now, Clemmie is his No.1  contender for next year's 1000 Guineas.

September is the clear favourite on form but I don’t think she will train on next season but she has obvious chances today. HAPPILY is the more genuine opposition to Clemmie, she has the ability to progress past September today and the Ryan Moore booking must be significant. MAGICAL is more the Oaks horse for next season so it’s surprising she runs in this race and I get the feeling she could also progress past September. It should be a very good race to watch and a close one.

Johnb's Antepost Tips

  • 2018 1000 Guineas – CLEMMIE 25-1 bet365
  • 2018 Oaks – MAGICAL 33-1 bet365

Think JB been drowning his sorrows after Hibees humping from Hamilton yesterday :)

I think the problem was I wasn’t there, first game I miss and the players don’t turn up, Dundee are the unlucky team up next

But it was a good day as I saw the potential Mare we could buy to breed from “backers dependant”

In my preview I said the only problem would be if Hibs took Hamilton too lightly.
That’s what seems to have happened and Accies’ boss Martin Canning says it was his team’s best display of his reign.
Hamilton aren’t great but if you don’t match their fight you won’t beat them.

And from a source I respect a lot its Hibs worst performance since they were relegated and said it was poor that Hamilton could only score 3

It’s very easy for mr Lennon ti fire his team up ti play the mighty blues (rfc) but he must find It equally as difficult ti fire up same players against the mighty accies ktf

Mackinnon’s the type of player you hate to be up against.
Loved watched Clydebank when he played for us.

As I keep saying, you won’t find anyone, anywhere that can spot talent early doors like me “not big headed just a fact, look at my record”
We now have not one but two very very big chances in next years Classics
Antepost odds of 25/1 Clemmie & 33/1 Magical for the 1000 Guineas & Oaks respectively
Both are now favourite for their races and both in single figure odds

Johnb when did you tip Magical for the 1000 guineas ? I have followed you in for the Oaks but never seen you mentioning the guineas and it’s not on your headline antepost tips

    • Avatar of Johnb
      Johnb 7 years ago

I haven’t said I tipped Magical for the 1000 Guineas
      I tipped Clemmie 25/1 for 1000 Guineas & Magical 33/1 for Oaks
