DORKING BOY (1.20) should go close in the 2m 3f novices’ handicap chase at Ascot.
Tom Lacey’s six-year-old made a valiant attempt to concede 9lb to exciting young chaser Zoffee at Exeter and boasts solid course form. Dr Sanderson ran out a comfortable winner for JP McManus at Plumpton 12 days ago and can go well off a 7lb higher mark.
CAPELAND (1.55) was carried out at the last fence when holding every chance in this race last year, with stablemate Diego Du Charmil going on to victory. He is up 7lb in the ratings but it is hard to see him not being involved. The more rain the better for the Venetia Williams-trained Ibleo.
KID COMMANDO (3.05) posted a very easy success at Plumpton last winter before being elevated into Graded company at Kempton. Anthony Honeyball’s gelding was by no means disgraced in third behind Highway One O two, and Kid Commando doesn’t appear harshly treated. Malaya won the 2019 Imperial Cup at Sandown and is worth considering, along with Scottish County Hurdle winner Sebastopol.
At Wetherby, the bet365 Hurdle over three miles can fall to Dan Skelton’s mare ROKSANA (2.45). She ran fourth to Honeysuckle in the Mares’ Hurdle at Cheltenham, finding the 2m 4f trip on the short side. Roksana chased home Santini over three miles at Aintree as a novice and receives the very handy sex allowance from all eight rivals.
Lisnagar Oscar sprung a 50-1 shock in the Stayers’ Hurdle at Cheltenham and had earlier run third to Paisley Park and Summerville Boy in the Cleeve Hurdle at Prestbury Park. He has to give away weight all round but sets a good standard.
Next Destination is an intriguing runner for Paul Nicholls, having left Willie Mullins. The gelding has been off the track for 920 days and was last seen beating Delta Work over three miles at the 2018 Punchestown festival. His earlier third to Samcro and Black Op in the Ballymore Novices’ Hurdle at Cheltenham marked him down as a very useful novice.

ignore anyone who tips capeland up, this is why you need to at least check form and not follow people blindly.
CAPELAND: one win in two years, CD but in a lower grade. effectively DEAD LAST in every start since that win yet still rated 7 above his highest winning mark. not seen for SEVEN MONTHS, and last season his come back run, he was 9th of 12, all this and he is 3/1, crazy.
then you have 16/1 shots like JUSTATENNER who won this race last year and was only 2lbs above, not a single mention and wins yet again. CHANNON bang in form, last 2-3 weeks his yellow/black silks had 3 winners, hollie doyle on today, not a mention. not really sure what the short priced tipsters here look at.
