Templehills didn't fire at all yesterday, and the writing was on the wall pretty early into the race. Sam Twiston didn't go for the lead I was hoping for, and he quickly let him slide through the field within the first circuit and at that point I knew my fate. I think he will come good at some point in the next month or so as he is becoming well-handicapped. Today, I've opted to stick with the jumps racing at Warwick, and I fancy a couple of horses.
Warwick 2:10
COBBLERS DREAM caught my eye in the opener at Warwick in this Novice hurdles race. He was ultra-impressive when he won at Cork in a bumper at the start of April, and since then he has been acquired by Ben Case and Lady Jane Grosvenor for £85,000. That's not a huge sum of money if you was looking for a flat horse, but in the world of jumps racing that is a decent amount of cash to spend, and based on his bumper run, they could have some fun with this horse.
He won over 2m 3f at Cork, but the way he travelled through the race doesn't suggest that he'll struggle with a drop back to 2m on his hurdles debut, as he showed a good cruising speed, but was also impressive was the way he responded to the jockey's pressure. He easily put that race to bed, and he beat a horse called Casey West into third spot and that horse isn't a mug. That horse finished 2nd behind a Willie Mullins horse on his hurdling debut, and that warranted an RPR of 124. The form of that race has worked out quite well, including the 4th who recorded an RPR of 146 over hurdles in April. Cobblers Dream easily put him in his place, so that goes to show that he could be better than your average horse.
I am slightly surprised to see him be favourite at the time of writing, as I was expecting the Fergal O'Brien's horse to top the market. That horse is currently second favourite, and I think she is definitely worth going against despite having the hurdling experience, as what we've seen so far is that she is inconsistent and has been a beaten fav on two of her three starts over obstacles.
Warwick 3:55
A horse who has run well when fresh is VIVAS and he has ran well at this meeting for the last two years, so it appears to be a bit of an early season target for him.
He is a horse who clearly appreciates running when fresh, as he has won three times on the back of a 100+day break, and has also placed when running fresh as well. He won at this meeting in 2019 off a mark of 130, and last year he was touched off into second in this exact race off 130 again. Today, he races off 127 which puts him bang there based on old pieces of form. He has previously won off 130 (2x), 127 and 122 over fences, so his current mark is definitely within reach. All of his best form has come on fast ground, and that is something which he will get today, as the ground is currently described as Good, Good to firm in places (watered), and there is no forecast rain from now till the start of racing, so the ground will be perfect for him.
Charlie is in good form, which has seen him have 2 wins from 4 runners in the last fortnight, with an extra horse being placed, which see his RTF (horses running to form) set at 75%, which is a good score.
There are questions to be asked about other horses in this field, and I believe Vivas offers good value and is definitely the safest bet in the race.

Hello!
It was nice to return to the site with a win today another dawn ran a cracker under Ben Curtis timed to perfection!
Spent the last hour looking over tomorrow’s card, not a great days racing on tomorrow but I’ve 2 selections.
Miquelon – 1:00 – Lingfield
Archie watsons Miquelon gets another roll of the dice tomorrow after going close in a harder race than he races in tomorrow. He takes a slight drop in grade for this one. Hollie Doyle on board.
My second selection each way selection is
Bird for life – 3:10 – Lingfield
I was surprised to see this one priced at 10s earlier and it’s already been backed into 8s with 365 at time of write up. Oldest horse in the race but like I just said I was surprised earlier when I seen it priced at 10s. He’s a consistent straightforward horse who when it comes down to the business part of the race normally gives it a good old rattle. Tends to break slow/miss the break but not really fussed as the race is over 1m 7 and he’s normally held up for a late dash anyway. Nicola Currie takes the ride tomorrow for the first time, take it with a pinch of salt.. I’m not a massive fan personally of Nicola Currie but I’m hoping she holds him up, gets a nice toe into the race coming round the bend without leaving him too much to do.
Good luck!
Class 🙌🏼 Was all over Hollie Doyle there for the win and place betting. Cheers @cairnzy1878
Well done cairnzy1878, you were right about Nicola 🤦🏽♂️ Fantastic work, thank you
Well done nice to see a few on here having a good day 👍💰💰
Follow C,keane tomorrow hes sure to get 3 @ listow
And murphy at Newcastle gets 3 thats 6 winners hopefully
And B,hughes gets 2 at warwick G-L
The thing is picking them, will it be a favourite/short priced day or will the outsider win….price means nothing when it’s already figured out behind the scenes and punters are again left wondering. I’ll have a small L15 but it’s money I can afford, hopefully these 3 guys have some winners if you back them 🙂
Got the 28’1 special up murphy 3 and keane 3
Mr Rango Listowel 3.27. Made some late headway after a slow start last time out.

3-00 Beverley Brando (NOT TO WIN) 13-10 @bey365..

———————————-
Garo de juilley 3-45 auteuil.
Will see if there is ew extra neat race time, hopefully paying 3 places.
Otherwise it 25-1 ew 2 places
Can’t understand the short price on it either Elvis. Far too short to bang your money on that’s for sure. Hasn’t been seeing the 6f out as well as he used to which at a guess is why they’ve dropped down to the 5f. But even at that.. the losing run stretching back to 2019 is enough to keep the wallet in the back pocket.
I’m thinking of throwing a few quid on taboosh at 4s.
Great stuff Elvis!

Brando 3rd.
1st time in a while I’ve won backing a horse to lose 😆
Afternoon,
A good day!
My NAP Miquelon won nicely under Hollie Doyle. Secret to Lingfield imo is to keep your ride close to the inside rail no more than one or two off it, keep your horse prominent and if they kick well of that bend then you are always in for a shout to be involved in the finish and that’s exactly what Hollie did today. Great ride and at not bad odds of 3s!
My second each way selection somehow managed to grab 12th and if Nicola Currie could of did what I thought she needed to do which was to get bird for life a little closer instead of giving it too much to do she probably would of won that as she bolted home out of nowhere . Was out of picture with a furlong left and came through like a rocket ship. Not sure if you can completely blame it on Nicola Currie as she was playing up before hand and didn’t travel at all… disappointing because there is talent there for the horse at that level if she could just break well and be a little more prominent! 12/1 each way is still profit!
In the green! In the money! Better in your pocket than in theres eh!
I’ll hop on later with tomorrow’s selections once I’ve had time to scout the cards.
Happy hunting
Grab 3rd not 12th*
If only we could put what you wrote into picking our selections we’d all be, as you said, “in the green”…..nice pick with the first 🙂
@spursman
