Dashel Drasher won at Aintree and was massively overpriced as I said. Whether the form will amount to much, I'm not sure, but it doesn't matter when you make money from the winner.

As for the other two selections. Two For Gold ran a cracker to almost finish in the places. If you'd asked me if that was even a possibility after the first fence I'd have said no chance as he was off the bridle for virtually the entire race, but he kept on going and to run as he did off 12st was a great attempt. Cap Du Nord also ran a belter, but actually managed to pick up some place money for us. He was massively hampered by a faller and that took his chances away from him, if that didn't happen I think he would've gone very close to Frodon.

Speaking of Frodon, well done to Cairnzy with his two selections yesterday which included Frodon. Lovely to see profit being made on both threads.

Cork 3:13

I love these types of races, and will always try and find a betting angle in them as I find the National races fascinating and a great watch. In today's conditions and over today's trip I think lighter weights will have a very big advantage and for that reason, I am going for the lightly raced Willie Mullins horse, CAPTAIN KANGAROO.

For Captain Kangaroo to win this he will have to massively improve on his jumping but I think the soft ground will help him with that. Some horses struggle to have accurate jumping when the ground is too quick and I get the impression that could be the case for this horse. He handles the slow conditions as we saw him win nicely on bumper debut a few years ago when beating the smart Kilcruit and recording an RPR of 127 at the same time. Though he managed to win a bumper, which shows he has speed, in recent times he has looked like a horse who would relish a real stamina test, which is another reason why I think he has a good chance today.

I feel like it can be worth a gamble on going for a lightly raced type over fences in races like this as I'd rather look for a potentially well-handicapped horse who is progressing, than a horse who has dropped to a good mark and has to bounce back to form. With that comes a question over their ‘hardiness' of a handicap and experience over fences, but I'm willing to take that trade.

First time I’ve seen him run as I’m not a massive fan of American racing. Looks like an absolute unit.

I’ve seen people saying he has to run on turf to quantify as the best ever… really? People think Frankel is the best ever (me included) but I’d never say he’d have to run on dirt/aw to prove he is the best. Why would he run on a surface which doesn’t suit him best, it’s like we want to see these great horses get beat.

Ramses de teillee 3-35 sandown 7-2.

No chance on last season’s form but will be staying on when others are waving the white flag in today’s heavy ground.

Well that’s the theory anyway, probably finish last 😆

      Fantastikas 2-35 sandown.
      9-4 win
      10-11 without pic dorhy

Beat does he know 50 lengths at Cheltenham when 7th and does he know 19th.
Pic dorhy not run this far before and with heavy ground will he stay ??
Also fantastikas get a handy 6 pound off the other 2 I’ve mentioned.

Sweet rizzel, had it at 12/1 and had it in a treble with Newcastle win and rangers bets from the football section nearly 300quid for pennies, great day, that could get better if the caddys Russell Henley wins the golf 🙌

Good racing for a Monday tomorrow with a couple of class 2 races knocking about.

    Nell’s son 1-45 Carlisle 6-5

    Cornerstone lad 2-50 Carlisle.
    9-1 bet365 ew extra 3 places 1/4 odds.
Just 5 run and he is wrongly the outsider of the 5 in my opinion.

    Fiddlerontheroof 3-05 kempton.
    10-1 ew 3 places SKYBET.

5th in the grand national this will no doubt be a warm up for a chase down the road.
Though this is a hurdle he has good hurdles form back in the day and the 12 stone he carries may stop him winning.
The soft ground will suit though and I’m hoping some of the hurdlers get stuck in the mud especially as 3 of the other 6 are having their seasonal debuts.
