MUSTARRID (4.00) fairly bolted up at Nottingham nine days ago and may prove adaptable on a very different surface at Newcastle.
The six-year-old burst into life at this time last year and although Mustarrid has a 5lb penalty to carry, he is due to go up another 5lb in future. He had six lengths to spare over favourite Flying West at Nottingham and probably has recent course and distance scorer Ulshaw Bridge to beat. William Buick is an eye-catching booking.

Secretariat was a great horse and a great background story tied in champyr,
I hadn’t really watched the arazi race closely until last night when I followed its progress throughout the race.
See where he was when he took off and how far he won by.
What were his odds that day ?, In hindsight should have been 1-10.
It was like watching a race between Usain bolt and Susan Boyle 😁

Secretariats is amazing but.
Arazi will always be remembered for one if not the best move in Breeders Cup history and he would have been mentioned as one of the best horses ever had he been retired after the Breeders Cup win but instead continued racing after operations on his knees, for me he is one of the greats

Yeah that was some performance after he died I’m sure the autopsy showed he had an abnormaly large heart and an extra value or somthing just a genetic freak of nature but what a magnificent animal.
Frankel was a great horse don’t get me wrong but his era didn’t provide much in the way of strong competition of course just my opinion sure others would strongly disagree.

Anyone who remembers me from the last time I was on here will know how much I like MAGICAL and she could easily win the Breeders Cup Turf but I have gone for TARNAWA instead, this is a race that should be dominated by the European horses Tarnawa, Magical and Lord North, it’s just a slight preference for Tarnawa, the deciding factor was the owner and trainers determination to go for this race instead of the Filly and Mare Turf where she would have been my NAP of the meeting
JohnB what’s your preference for Imporable for bar his last run? I think Tiz The Law is still the best horse in the US and hopefully his last run was a blip and he’s had good 2 months off.
Gamine and Jackies Warrior are my best bets with Campanelle a close 3rd I just keep hearing about the distance but if you can win in soft over 6f I’d think a mile on good is within him.
Tiz The Law needs the race run to suit, if he gets drawn into an early battle I can’t see him winning, he has to stalk the leaders and attack late, he certainly can win but I just fancy Improbable who I think has been in devastating form in his last 3 runs and if he breaks well I see him dominating a really good field here
Yeah last run was superb from Improbable but I think Franco must get a good break too and I’m not sure stalking be his best bet as letting Improbable get away would be fatal.

PHANTASMAL runs in the 1830N, i watched him there 3 days ago and he was travelling best but when push came to shove, nothing much happened, i think the extra furlong will be in his favour and his sole win was over this distance. he looks to have been highly tried though is around 9/2, if you can get 5/1 worth playing safe with ew. reckin it places or comes last so, 50/50, decent odds :D
