Saturday wasn't the greatest of days for profit. Still, we secured profit with Mitbaahy winning in the hands of David Egan who had a very good day yesterday as did the Varian yard, who seemed to have printed winners left right and centre.
Hamilton 2:00
As Sundays go for racing, today isn't the best day of racing we'll ever see. Normally Sunday includes some good Irish racing and some decent racing in France, but for whatever reason, that's not the case for today. So the first selection of the day comes at the Scottish track of Hamilton, which is one of my favourite tracks to bet at.
The trainer, Mrs Ilka Gansera Leveque sends one runner from her base in Newmarket to Hamilton which is a round trip of around 700 miles, which is an extremely long journey. There would have been more local opportunities for her runner, MISS BELLA BRAND, so it's of notice that they are willing to travel this kind of distance to find a race which they think is winnable. For a smaller yard to go this far, shows they must think they are going there with a very strong chance as at the moment it's very difficult for trainers to stay afloat, as we've seen with trainers calling it a day in recent years, most recently Joe Tuite has to stop operations. So to be prepared to spend plenty of diesel to go to Hamilton they must be expecting a return from their runner.
Even though the distance that she will be travelling seems like a tip in itself, her recent form is decent to suggest she is on a good handicap mark of 69. She has won or been placed on her last seven runs, which shows the consistency. Her recent 2nd/11 at Ascot in a Class 4 is arguably a career best in that type of race where she was beaten by Sound Of Iona who has been in the form of her life in recent months, going from a 63 rated horse to now being rated 83, which is some going at the age of 6. That horse went close in a Class 2 at Ascot in her next race, so it goes to show she was ahead of her handicap mark off 77 in the Class 4 event, so finishing behind her in 2nd spot is nothing to be ashamed of.
Saffie Osbourne takes the ride, which means 3lbs is taken off the weight as Saffie is still an apprentice. She is a very capable rider, shown by the fact she was the leading jockey in the Racing League, which saw her land a nice 20k (I think) bonus.
This race has a few who come into it with good chances, so I'm happy enough to play Miss Bella Brand as an EW bet at the current odds of 7/1.
Dortmund 1:30
This won't be for everyone, so if it doesn't float your boat then you clearly don't have to follow the selection. I've gone for a selection in the German St Leger as I think the favourite has a very strong chance of winning this, so despite the fact he is probably shorter than ideal, he has the form in the bag to win this.
TUNNES is a half-brother to last year's Arc winner, Torquato Tasso, so the pedigree is definitely there for this horse to win a race of this nature. This is a Group 3, so not exactly the best race in the world, and the RPRs of recent winners of this race have been between 101 – 108 which is lower than the 115 this horse produced last time out at Baden-Baden. This trip is an unknown, as it is for his half-brother Torquato Tasso, but as we saw last year in the Arc he stays 12f very well, as in the manner of a horse who would get further, and I think similar things can be said about this horse.
Soft ground is clearly something which is needed in this horse's pedigree, and with Dortmund expecting rain every hour until the race starts the ground should get pretty testing, which will be what this horse wants. He is short in the market, but I think he is one you can say will be tough to beat and as a 3yo there is definitely more progression to come.

Tunnes wins easily in Germany 👍🏻
Cheers Rizzel for Tunnes question is did you watch it anywhere I couldn’t find a stream even WH didnt show it.
Bet365 had it available. Won by about 8+ lengths. I wasn’t confident at the start as he was pulling like a train, which is never ideal especially on soft ground.
Aww right I new none of the 2 TV channels had it on WH was showing it would be on but both there channels never showed it disappointing but nice to see it won and took 2s last night 👍
My 10p accumulator of the day !
Listowel
2:10- aghaboy 4/1
2:40 – holly mount 5/1
3:10 – Shannon gray 7/1
3:40 – run for pat 11/4
4:10 – Ferdia 10/3
2 firsts 2 seconds 1 loser ! What a load of dog shit 😂
£1572 should at least cover there diesel money 😂
You’d like to think so 😂
Thought it was a decent run. Definitely wasn’t a bad run, place money to get our stake back is never terrible.
You would take that every day ! I’m on my 10p a day rule now so win lose or draw I will have fun taking part 😂
After a momentous week going to give a L15 a punt.
2:50 Plumpton – Bornleader
3:00 Hamilton – Caleta Sunrise
3:20 Plumpton – See The Sea
3:30 Hamilton – Burtonlodge Beauty
🥉🥈🥇6/1 🥈
I wonder who will be in the 30 likes club today 😂🤣
Schnèll!’ 🇩🇪
Nice one Rizzle easy as you like.
🇺🇸/ 🇨🇦 Very competitive tonight so just a 40p Canadian a single along with a c/forecast
Golden Gates -R1…Magical Lady. 2/1. NAP
Barns storming and well backed I missed 7/2!
Belmont-R3…Kitchen. 5/2 (would be NAP but got to hope he’s good to go,2nd in a G2 last October beating Mckulick who franked the form i say last night IF he wasn’t off so long? Workouts are good but something must have been wrong to be sidelined
R6….Forbidden Secret. 11/10
R9…Faith In Humanity 6/1 ( Chad Brown show, going with potential and it often happens his lighter raced runner win v horses with better speed figure and his last run a was good one
We go at a combo Tricast = 1-4-8.)
Woodbine- R4…Artie. 13/8
If leaving any out it be the 2 with no write up.
Q 1 out of 5 at best and no return! 😉 🍀
Forgot to say Kinchen is by Lope De Vega – Nouriya(?) from Galileo so breeding is excellent and to finish in a G2 beating Mckulick on his 2nd outing he was clearly a dam good horse.
If fit as I say 5/2 could be a good price and definitely in the right hands with jockey and trainer
I’m having a single on it
GL all
Off to flier bet as someone on here used to say…
Belmont -R1…Montepilciano. 6/1 Bet365
Only a small wager at a price with his workouts have been rapid so he should hit the front but see how he takes to 1 mile?
tasfir 4 30 ew well done all winners today
5:10 listowel- rebel pat 16/1 e/w
Race 2 woodbine- carpe horseshoe 9/4
Absolutely no idea why King Vega in the G3 at Woodbine-R9 is out from 4/7 to 6/4 Paddy Power?
Didn’t make my Canadian due to the poor price and it’s no banker but with my money back from the NAP being a non runner I’ve got take that!!
Checked various things and even the weather hasn’t changed so??
Doesn’t stay 12f
🇺🇸
Hmm. 2/4 with a NR in the Acca.
King Vega didn’t see out the trip.
Lovely by Faith In Humanity at a price.
Should have put NAP dosh on him rather than my few £s but profit and good watching again ‘Stateside’.
£1 trixie on the following and first is close to the off so 2 x singles and a double is the alternative..
Belmont -R10…Mountak Summer 7/2
Golden Gates -R4..Vandenberg. 5/2 *Paddy Power
Woodbine- R11…Pound Green 5/2
All Paddy Power
GL and enjoy your day off if yer lucky enough to have one for Her Majesty’s funeral ✌️ 🇬🇧
Yeah Debs it was his first go at the distance but the way he finished last race I thought it wouldn’t be an issue… turned out t was his only issue.
Drop back next time surely? 👍
Kinchen one to keep on side too after the king break
