Thanks again to Cairnzy for filling for me yesterday when I was feeling unwell. With Royal Ascot around the corner, I'm not getting too involved with Monday's racing as the racing gets so much better from Tuesday onwards.
Lingfield 1:00
Trainer: Neil King
Jockey: Rob Hornby
Form: 6-7431
GO FOX was bought for £7,000 at winner a claiming race at Catterick last time out, and though that race isn't great form, this race is all that strong and this horse is still relatively unexposed over staying trips so a chance can be taken that a 5lb rise in the weights isn't going to stop him from winning two times in a row.
It's interesting that this horse won by 5.5L from making all over 2m which was effectively his first time at the trip, which is odd as he is a 7yo. He had previously ran over 2m 1f once before on the flat, but other than that it has been over much shorter, and he seemed to have appreciated this step up in trip last time out.
There's no guarantee he'll be able to make all like he did last time, but the jockey booking of Rob Hornby looks a positive one.
Lingfield 3:30
Trainer: Saeed Bin Suroor
Jockey: Oliver Stammer (3)
Form: 65-1
It's interesting that Saaed Bin Suroor landed this race 12 months ago with a similar type of horse as BIG MEETING, being a 5yo, lightly raced, progressive and coming into the race by bolting up in the previous race.
Saaed does really well these kind of horses who are late developers and carry big weights. With him just being raced the 3 times, there is a strong possibility there is a lot of untapped potential left with this horse. I can see why the Sir Michael Stoute horse is the favourite as he performed well last time out and produced an RPR in the 90s and carries a low weight in comparison to my selection, but he'll have to be good to beat a horse who is fully matured and developed like Big Meeting.
A handicap mark of 91 is not an easy feat but he has a nice pedigree and has looked like a potential Group horse off that last race, so a chance is taken.

With Premier league Darts final starting in an hour odd did NO ONE think to put up Van Gerwen at 9/1 for Nottinghamshire 6.20??
9/1 I wish I’d seen it just talking about darts earlier.
