The sole selection yesterday gave it a good go carrying top weight, but didn't quite last it out as he was passed in the final furlong. I think he ran a cracker, considering his earlier jumps weren't the best.

Lingfield 3:00

I think this race is between two horses, those being Dashel Drasher and ITCHY FEET, and I'm siding with the latter. On paper this looks a belter, and it might turn out to be that, but I think a lot of horses in this race can be looked past.

Bristol De Mai has been a cracking horse for connections, and is a horse who a lot of people have taken to and is a favourite for them. However, I think his best days are past him, and I think it's a downward spiral for him for the rest of his career. This drop in trip probably wouldn't have been an issue back in the day for him, especially on testing ground, but I think he doesn't have the ability to compete at this level anymore. Dashel Drasher will be a tough one to crack in this race. He will more than likely run from the front, like he normally does, and he'll wear his heart on his sleeve. Whether this trip is a little too far is up for debate, but he'll have to produce a real top quality performance to win this whilst giving away 6lbs to Itchy Feet. Master Tommytucker is a horse who flatters to deceive, and is held on form with Dashel Drasher from previous encounters.

Which leaves me with Itchy Feet, who will appreciate this ground, and this trip should be ideal for him. He finished 2L behind Dashel Drasher back in December 2020, but he had a lot of ground to pick up, as the winner nicked a 10L lead around the final bend, with Itchy Feet staying on all the time. With a swing in the weights and an extra furlong, I can see a reverse in the form. He hasn't been disgraced this season, finishing 2nd in a Grade 2 on seasonal reappearance, on ground which is too quick for him, and he would've needed the run. He then finished 2nd to Bravesmansgame, whilst giving him 4lbs. That winner looks a serious contender for a novice race at the Cheltenham festival this year, so that was not a bad run either. At the pick of the weights and odds available, I think he is the play in the race.

Having looked back at Jonbon’s race, I was probably a bit harsh with my first comment.
His time was 5secs slower than Tommy Oscars but carried 7lbs more.
He is a quick jumper and stayed on well to the line.
I just think from what I’ve seen of the other contenders that he’s a bit to find on them and would have him behind both Dysart Dynamo and Constitution Hill. From the betting it looks like SG will be going the Ballymore route but that could all change in a couple of weeks after the DRF. If he wins well there the current 9/1 could look great value if you had money to spare.
The other thing on the Shiskin v Energumene race is today’s race was 2m 167yrds, the CC is 1m 7f 199yrds. Almost a furlong shorter.
It does make it interesting. I would still have Shiskin as fav due to course form but still will hopefully be another cracker.

Nice tip with The Galloping Bear. Happily and luckily chose that one from your four and put it with Recoba’s Fakir D’alene. Small stake gambler and I had a free bet, so Cheltenham finances are now safely in place. Absolutely delighted and would not have really looked at the ‘Bear’ without your suggestion. Cheers.

      Already posted eddy below recoba.

Each way or place only probably best option, trainer has 4 in the race and cottin has 2 potential improvers .
This jockey 0-8 on eddy and his 2 wins been with zuliani who is on the top weight polinuit.
Eddy has won here before and is down in grade from his last run on heavy at auteuil

      Early coverage and start stateside.

Gulfstream-R1… Six Feet Apart. 5/2 (still unexposed but gets quite a big class relief here after what wasn’t a bad effort last time, jockey gave up watching it back as he was beaten or 7l defeat wouldn’t look so bad. Hopefully can take this)

Shiskin has been given a revised rating of 181P which puts him ahead of Altior, with Energumene 180 level with Altior.
That’s probably right as Shiskin beat a proper 2m monster and the P indicating more to come had he not pecked on landing I guess.
