Dubai Honour was narrowly denied in France, and I don't think he was given the best of rides by Marquand.

Tom was content to sit behind the front runner, who set slow fractions.

Dubai Honour stays further than yesterday's trip, so you'd have expected Tom to want a quicker gallop. Unfortunately, he didn't think the same, and the race turned into a sprint.

Queen Of Thunder ran well from the rear of the field. She was well backed into second favourite, but we had to settle for place money.

Birthe was very weak in the market, stuck to the task, but wasn't good enough on the day to even place.

Shayem 11/10 (2pt) – Pontefract 3.03

The Karl Burke runner, Shayem, is a short price for today's race, but I think he is the most likely winner.

I do try and avoid horses at this price, but Karl Burke's two-year-olds have been in fantastic form all year round, so it's not a surprise that he is the favourite.

There are a few horses who could cause an upset, but the progressive profile of Shayem and the form he has shown is the best on offer.

He won last time out in a Class 2 race at Epsom, but the form to focus on is the third behind Bow Echo.

Bow Echo is a fancied horse for the Guineas next year, so finishing 2.75L behind him was a solid effort. The fourth-placed horse has since finished 3rd in a Group 3, behind the well-respected Hankelow.

Stormy Impact 4/1 (1pt) – Pontefract 3.33

Stormy Impact managed to land the three-year-old version of the Epsom Dash earlier in the season, when being tipped up. I believe that with Warren Fentinman's 5lb claim, he should be too good for this Class 2 race.

We know Stormy Impact can win good races at Class 2 level, that is something which isn't the case for the others in the race.

He won a Class 2 race during the Racing League meeting at Wolverhampton off a mark of 93, and considering I see this race as an easier assignment, there's a lot to like.

Aegean Prince – Deauville 3.50

I am hoping that the odds compilers at the bookies will price up Aegean Prince at a good enough price to be backed.

Charlie Appleby's runner returned to the track after a 289-day break at the start of this month. He showed that he wasn't rusty and was going to progress for the final few months of the year.

Considering he wasn't well-fancied in the market, winning at 4/1, he did it in easy style by eight lengths.

I don't think this race is particularly strong, so if he doesn't bounce from quite a quick return, he is the one to beat.

There is currently no odds available, so wait till the morning.
