To say I’m glad to see the back of the Cheltenham Festival would be an understatement. It was the worst 4 days of tipping I’ve had in a long.
A lot of second place finishes, a faller at the last who was clear to win and a few real below par efforts from highly rated horses ended my 4 days of Cheltenham in disappointment. All part and parcel of this game and we move on.
Hats off to Rizz who’s jumping knowledge is up there with the best I’ve seen. He had a cracking festival with the highlight being his 50/1 winner. I’ll be glad to see the return of the higher grade sprints on the flat as that’s where I feel more comfortable tipping.
I thought I’d jump on tomorrow with one selection who takes a drop in class and who’s odds I thought were attractive enough given the small field.
1:35 Southwell
I’m near sure Rizz tipped up Across The Line a while back. Although he never won on the day he’s a model of consistency with form figures 214222.
When I see a pile of 2nd places on the form figures I tend to normally avoid backing however today I’m making an exception for the Skelton runner.
He managed to get off the mark at Southwell back in November at the third attempt of asking but since then he’s rocked up against some nice types in the shape of Elixir De Nutz and Numitor who were better than him on the day but he still ran with respect on each occasion.
This drop in class and return to 2miles where he was last successful holds him with every chance tomorrow.
Good luck!
