Agree totally with Dawn approach, needs no explaining..would Mr F dare to put your pick under the headline ‘BANKER’ :)
2013 Epsom Derby Betting Preview:
Dawn Approach even money for more classic success
The 2013 Epsom Derby takes centre stage in the world of racing on Saturday afternoon and long-time favourite Dawn Approach will face a maximum of 14 rivals. Jim Bolger’s colt was an emphatic winner of the 2,000 Guineas at Newmarket and he is well fancied to make it back-to-back Classic wins this weekend.
Dawn Approach extended his unbeaten career record to seven races when winning by five lengths at Newmarket and he is an even-money favourite with Ladbrokes for Saturday’s Group One. Bolger’s first string is bidding to follow in the footsteps of his sire New Approach, who won the Derby five years ago, although many are questioning whether the 3-year-old can handle the step up in trip when racing beyond a mile for the first time in his career.
Bolger also has Trading Leather (40/1) engaged for Saturday’s race but he will only run if anything should go awry with leading fancy Dawn Approach in the lead up to the big day. Bolger’s pair are part of a strong Irish challenge for the Epsom classic and Aidan O’Brien is currently mob handed with six entries as he bids to follow up on last year’s success with Camelot.
Battle of Marengo has forged a fine reputation on the Emerald Isle and has won a decent Epsom Derby Trial at Derrinstown this season, with Ladbrokes going 5/1 on his chances this weekend. His stablemate Magician, a brilliant winner of the Irish 2,000 Guineas, is also available at 5/1 when he makes a quick reappearance, while the unbeaten Chester Vase winner Ruler of the World can be backed at 10/1. O’Brien’s other entries include 2,000 Guineas sixth Mars (14/1), who should enjoy a step up in trip as he bids to return to form, as well as Flying The Flag (66/1) and Festive Cheer (50/1).
The Irish charge is further enhanced by the presence of David Wachman’s Galileo Rock, who is available at 50/1 in the Latest Betting, and Andrew Oliver’s 100/1 outsider First Cornerstone, who was fifth on his seasonal reappearance in the Irish 2,000 Guineas.
The rest of the field comes from outside of Ireland, with Andre Fabre’s Ocovango heading across to Epsom after forging a fine reputation in France. The Monsun colt is expected to stay after going unbeaten in three races at Saint-Cloud and he is an 8/1 chance for Fabre, who won the Derby with Pour Moi in 2011.
The foreign theme at Epsom is continued after Andreas Wohler’s stable star Chopin was supplemented at a cost of £75,000 for Saturday’s race. The 10/1 shot beat Global Bang on the soft in Germany recently and the form of that race was enhanced by Global Bang’s excellent run in the subsequent German 2,000 Guineas.
Elsewhere, Dante Stakes winner Libertarian is bidding to cause another upset after his shock win at York and Elaine Burke’s colt can be backed at 16/1 in the Betting With Ladbrokes. James Tate’s Mirsaale (66/1), a winner of the Epsom Classic Trial, and John Ryan’s Ocean Applause (500/1) complete the list of entries for Saturday’s classic.

ST NICHOLAS ABBEY 4/9 { coronation cup }
DAWN APPROACH 1/1 { derby}
for a treble I might add SECRET GESTURE 9/4 {oaks}..again another fave but was very impressive in 10 length win in the trial at lingfield.
OUTSIDER LA FOTUNATA 20/1{ Epsom dash}..has been placed in all 5 runs over c&d so ill have a few pound on it E/W.
EPSOM DASH PREVIEW – SATURDAY
—————————————————
Experienced Epsom-ers:
Ajjaadd – Improved, at the age of seven, when scoring over C&D last time, beating La Fortunata by a short-head. 4 lb rise incurred for that win seems fair and he is a must for any shortlist.
Captain Dunne – Has run in this race for the last four years, winning in 2011, and it was encouraging that he managed to perform at a level close to his best on his reappearance despite the majority of his stablemates needing their seasonal returns.
La Fortunata – Incredibly speedy mare who is yet to finish out of the frame in five starts over C&D, including on seasonal return when narrowly touched off by Ajjaadd. She was carried to the middle of the track by the eventual third that day and it is far from out of the question that she could reverse the form.
Fair Value – Posted her two best performances when tackling this C&D, which is unlikely to be a coincidence with him possessing an abundance of speed. Goodwood return, when third to Duke of Firenze, likely to have put her spot on for this and it would be folly to dismiss her.
Of that quartet, the first and second from a race over C&D in April, namely Ajjadd and La Fortunata, make most appeal. La Fortunata receives a 1 lb pull with her adversary and was arguably unlucky not to beat him that day, having been inconvenienced by the wandering Silvanus, and she will clearly well suited to the demands of this race.
Epsom Newbies:
Duke Of Firenze – A well-bred colt, being the first foal of Fillies’ Mile and Coronation Stakes winner Nannina, who has tasted success on three occasions to date. Latest success was a career best and, though he backed that up on the figures at York next time, he never really landed a blow and the suspicion is that he doesn’t want a test of speed quite this severe.
Smoothtalkinrascal – Has improved since joining David O’Meara over the winter, posting three excellent efforts, including wins at both Leicester and York, and it is possible to excuse his sole below-par performance at Hamilton. He is now 9 lb higher than when last contesting a handicap and were the ground to come up quick it would have to be a concern (as yet unraced on anything faster than good).
Mister Mannanan – Smart performer in his prime, landing a couple of listed races and competing in handicaps off marks in the low 100’s. Returned to form on his seasonal reappearance when winning at Beverley prior to shaping better than the bare result at Chester, and it could be worth forgiving his effort at York as things went against him having missed the break.
Normal Equilibrium – Built on the promise of an unlucky reappearance to win readily at Chester, beating Bispham Green by a length and a half. He remains a sprinter with plenty of potential and is certainly worthy of consideration under a 4 lb penalty.
The three-year-old’s hold a strong hand here with both Smoothtalkingrascal and Normal Equilibrium well up to making an impact in races of this ilk. However their relative inexperience could count against them, particularly at a track of this nature, so we are more interested in the Dandy Nicholls-trained Mister Mannanan, who is well treated if returning to anything like his best and is certainly worth a chance to prove that his York running was all wrong.
The pincer movement has been used to great effect throughout history, from the Battle of Cannae in 216 BC to right through to World War II, and we are going to bring the manoeuvre into the modern era by employing it here. The two “prongs” that make up our pincer are La Fortunata and Mister Manannan, one with experience at Epsom and one without, both of whom strike as being capable of making a sizeable impact in this race. Clearly much depends upon the draw (don’t let Stone Of Folca’s success last year from stall two fool you) but at this stage that is impossible to take into account and as ante-post bets they are as good as any.
Recommendations:
Back La Fortunata @22.0
Back Mister Manannan @ 20.0

That’ll do me :)
Didnt anyone see magician destroy the field in the
Irish guinness.
He will definitely stay, dawn approach might not.
One is evens, the other 6-1. No brainer.
Just one thing wrong with that Jasper, that is that MAGICIAN isn’t even a 50/50 cert for the Derby, i don’t think it will run, the owners have just about said it won’t run, so for me its DAWN APPROACH all the way.

BEVERLEY PLACEPOT
——————————
18:35 – No points for originality with the first of today’s Placepot selections, with Defendant selected to kick us off in what looks a very un-competitive affair. Sir Michael Stoute’s colt has performed respectably to date and, with the opposition looking thin on the ground as well as three places up for grabs, we will side with Ryan Moore’s only mount of the day to get us off to a good start.
19:05 – Leg two may be smaller in number but looks a tricky contest nonetheless; for that reason it looks best to side with two selections to see us through, beginning with Classic Punch, who used to keep much better company in his hay day for David Elsworth. He proved himself still able when winning over C&D on debut for his new yard earlier this month and ought to go well off just a 2lb higher mark. With the races’ trappy nature we will perm him with Demolition who looks ideally suited to this trip and ran as though returning to form at Ripon on his latest start.
19:35 – Mops Angel got no sort of run in the Brocklesby on debut, and made up for her misfortune when winning nicely at Pontefract last time. As an added plus last year’s winner of this race, Jadanna, took the same Pontefract maiden in similar fashion before going on to better things. We will take a chance that Michael Appleby’s filly can take us through and keep the lines down.
20:05 – William Haggas has his string in fine fettle at present and Heeraat looks the one to be with in leg four. Generally progressive last season, he helped force a strong gallop in the Palace House Stakes when finishing a respectable fourth behind craic sprinter Sole Power on his latest start. Haggas has a 33% strike rate with older horses here in recent seasons and this fellow should be on the premises.
20:35 – In what looks an even trickier handicap than leg two, it again seems sensible to go with a couple against the field to keep us in the game. With many in the line-up having question marks surrounding them for one reason or another, we will go with the two last time out winners. Mad Jazz who won over 1 ¼ miles at Pontefract last time, but could hardly have been more impressive and she ought to cope with this extra 2f. Flamingo Beat relished the test over C&D last time, (asserting cosily close home), he also should be in the shake-up.
21:05 – It would be rather soul destroying to go out in the final leg, an intriguing 3-y-o handicap, and for that reason we once again take two against the field to finish off. Mark Johnston’s Mushaakis strung together a pair of taking victories on the polytrack last autumn and his return effort was very respectable in the context of this race at Kempton last time; he should get competitive. Tim Easterby’s Medici Dancer was unlucky at Doncaster earlier this month and has shaped as though a step up to this trip is what she needs, the plum draw in stall 1 is a major bonus.

Any thoughts on hawks gold at fontwell? Cheers
I’m on this one in my multiple, in good form, likes the ground, raised 5lb for winning last time out but jockey has a 7lb claim so should be there or there abouts. sportinglife & oddschecker both tip it to win
*8.45 at Punchestown – Frontline now 7/2…
Think you need to lay off milesey, how much big winners does he put up?
You moan & complain that the treble had no value & lost? Well why put it on in the first place then? Had the treble came in you’d have been all over milesey like a rash thanking him again for another winner.
I don’t blindly back his tips, but look at them and if I fancy them I’ll put them on, or chuck them in one of my multiple bets. Same goes with the football tips he & mr fixit puts up, if I have any doubts about their tips I’ll leave them alone.
Grow up and stop lashing out because you’re too immature to accept the consequences when a bet you place loses! If you can’t afford to lose it then don’t bet it! Simple really!!!
And milesey, rise above it & don’t give them the reaction they are looking for!

I put mine on here for free, costs you nothing to come on and not follow them, so go elsewhere and pay for your tips !

You really are a joke son!
Pearso and Weasel, why don’t you both put up some tips instead of just ripping the sh1t out of others that are big enough to daily put up tips when they know they get crap thrown at them when they don’t come in.I don’t agree with everything milesey and mrf put up but at the end of the day they know a lot more about horse’s and footy than me or you, you’d be the first to come on proclaiming him as a messiah if you backed a winning lucky 15 he posted like last week,so by all means vent your anger at the horse or the jockey but the tips are based on knowledge and stats which as we all know don’t always come in,so don’t shoot the messanger.
Pearso, some stats regard Milesey. From 10th May until yesterday. If you placed a tenner win only bet on all of his horse selections, you would be showing a profit of £797. That is 79 points in 18 days and does not include his 285/1 lucky 15. If you dont want his selections then stay off the site and allow the rest of us to bear the fruit. Milesey, excellent job, if people cannot take a loss, then I am afraid Horse Racing is not the game for you.
Then dont vent at people that obviously do. I lost a lot on the odds on double today, I am certainly not coming on here moaning about it.
INFLUENCES ? hahaha
I do this for free while also doing a full time job……………. so your so called tipsters who you pay are any better are they ? they have inside knowledge ? really ?
I have a full time job, but still i come on here with my tips, if you know better, or anyone else then post your tips, didn’t see a word against the treble till the first one actually lost, why didn’t you say something when i posted it ?
2 of them horses were tipped in the racing post, 1 being tipped in most daily papers and across the net, i didn’t expect them to lose, just like i didn’t when sprinter was 1/5, when Frankel was 1/8 and enough people got on them at that price !
If you use your brain, they are short priced favourites for a reason, the reason being they are better then anything else, whether they perform or not is a different thing.
You can’t cry cause you don’t get the run your looking for, that’s racing, if you don’t like it, don’t bet on the horses !
Milesey
RACING TIPS AND CHAT ?
It’s not my racing tips and chat, others should and can post their tips, you don’t have to follow me and what i do, i lost money on them horses, alot of money, not going to cry about it, thats racing at the end of the day, post your tips and lets see how good you are before you come on here mouthing off at others………… this is a public site to post your tips, not to follow me religiously. OPEN SITE FOR EVERYONE TO POST TIPS !
Milesey
Pearso you say that …Milesey took down my original comment which just said backing odds on was the road to ruin and I’m afraid it is !
Took down? As in physically removed it?? …because from where i am sitting it is still there!
I can’t remove anything………… i’m not a worker for this site, i’m no different then anyone else on here, i just post my tips and thats it……….. it’s a free site, i have a full time job as well.
Milesey
PEARSO, WEASEL, GUNNER, IDIOTS
GET ON THIS TREBLE
NOTTINGHAM 4:40
BOLD ASSERTION 40/1
CARTMEL 4:25
THE TINKERATER 50/1
PUNSHESTOWN 7:15
VIC LIATH 100/1
Think you will find my odds on treble had alot more chance then this does……… but it’s value and you love some value ! GET ON IT !
Milesey
I won’t bet on that unless you can ‘guarantee’ it wins Milesey ;)
Successfully tipping footy, racing or any sport is tough. All you can do is analyse form, stats and team news (if applicable) you can’t run the race or score a goal. I’ve researched and bet on lots of teams who ‘should’ win then have 25 shots off target! Can’t legislate for that unfortunately. I think you’ll find though that Mr. F, Milesey, BP and many of the regulars have a pretty good hit rate.
Btw, imagine if that treble won! haha! Imagine even one of them won :D
Imagine if i said to ” LAY ” them, people wouldn’t have done it anyway, for all 3 should have won with ease, just how people like to act, nothing you can do about it.
No one said a thing when it was posted, only when they lost.
Milesey
Milesey, just been reading the comments. Guys like Pearso should stay away if they think you’re going to win every time. Your selections overall are profitable and well researched and people should be thankful they’re getting them for free. Bounty Punter criticism is ridiculous too after the week he had. It will be me next probably.
By the way, Milesey can’t deleter comments and neither can Bounty Punter but I will scrub anything that’s just a stupid, unjustified rant.
hahaha, yeah don’t go tipping ENGLAND at odds on MR F, thats a bad move, and england Under 19’s to beat scotland at 1/2 , that is just shocking, nearly as bad as UCD +2 and they get hammered 5-0 ;) ;)
Milesey
Milesey, thanks for reminding me about that one. At least I picked St Pat’s to probably win (by one). None of us mind criticism but make it constructive or put up your own thoughts.
Pearso, just back from the golf so catching up. Firstly, lay off the tipsters and simply go away if you don’t like the site. Secondly, Milesey doesn’t have access to take down comments.
I DON’T GET PAID FOR THIS…………. so go elsewhere and pay for your tips, you think you will be paying for quality, go ahead and pay £10 a day to get tips sent to your mobile, i can give you websites for people who do that and would love your money from you.
Milesey
MUGS pay for tips, this site is free !
Milesey
hahahaha, they are tipped on everything today, in every paper, they should have won with ease, it’s great having ago when they don’t win, if i said get on sprinter sacre at 1/8 is that a bad thing ? really ? whatever, i’ll give you plenty more short priced and i’ll keep the nice outsiders to myself, people’s reactions are shocking, if you look back PEARSO, Who is obviously PEARSO46, read his comments hahaha how FICKLE can one person be.
Milesey
Gunner, you should go and start a tipping site with Pearso and see how easy it is. Lay off, we know you’re a wind-up merchant and not much else.
Pearso, absolutely. Their undeserved and unjustified comments – infantile rants by people who think only winners will be tipped. Time to get real.
WeeBanger/Andy, any more comments like that and I’ll ask admin to ban you. Surely you’re clever than this. Either that or actually put up a tip.
WEASEL = GUNNER = PEARSO = WEEBANGER
= school holidays :)
Milesey
SOMEONE TELL THIS FOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL
i can not delete posts ! and i don’t care what you say, you pick a 285-1 lucky 15, and outsiders ranging from 12-1 – 20-1 and i’ll listen to what you have to say……… till that day, jog on !
Milesey
Milesey, admin will sort it, dont respond any more.
Milesey, I’ve said you can’t delete comments. Emailed admin to take action.
Milesey, sorry meant to say you can’t delete comments. Admin have chased them, hope they go to another site, maybe pay for some tips. Then they can complain.
They won’t pay, they would have to take their parents credit card to do so…….. moaning and they didn’t even put the double / treble on anyway , hahaha, like they said ” i don’t bet on odds on ” .
Milesey
Pearso, like your new user name. Stop being a baby. Give us some tips or go away.
Milesey, mate I think you are losing too much time and energy over those guys. Just keep doing what you do best and who is not happy with it can sod off to some other site. I am paying a professional tipster and he is having a really bad run at the moment. Who can`t take the hit in the pocket every now and then should better play lottery, not bet on horses.
Respect Milesey and Mr Fixit for your hard work!
Rale, well said. It’s the right attitude.
Fancy JETSON at Punch the night fingers crossed.
Yessssssssss over 2.5 in paok game – cheers milesey. I know this is the racing section, but thought a couple of numpteys might want to take note. Thanks. Again and keep them coming mate
ryan moore great ride unlike danny cook the prick come on ruby for the double 6/4 in 11/10
Been a long day. Put the tips on and went for a meeting so just seeing results and comments. I wonder why u bother milesey, I rather back all your tips than give a tipster.leave the whiners that think they should win all d time.
Don’t back down milesey get innnnnn
Terrific tip milesey don’t back down 8-1 here’s hoping camachoice 4 double jockey kirby has 7-1 strike rate trainer m botti has Had few winners in last week Keep it up people should do bit research before betting anyhow u don’t need to justify to guys like pearso
Just back from the golf…Sounds like Pearso done his £1K winnings from the lucky 15 last week on Milesys treble today today then?
Is Gunner, Pearso, Weasel etc..the same person?…
Guido, dunno. Admin dealt with the nonsense.
Sounds like i missed all the excitement Paul while out rippppin drives 350 yards right doon the middle of the fairway and sinking umpteen birdies (not the feathered or cheryl cole types) on the golf course this afternoon then??… ;-)
Leave the Brasso alone m8 ;)
