CHESTER PLACEPOT
—————————–
13:45- Tom Dascombe evidently has his string in fine form at the moment and it could be worth including the well-drawn Chosen Character in the Placepot. The five-year-old hasn’t been in the best of form this year, but he has performed well at this track in the past, breaks from stall 1 and will have no problems with conditions should they deteriorate. Haylaman went close for the Koukash, Simcock and Spencer axis yesterday and it is hoped that Postscript will also put up a bold show. He hasn’t been with Simcock for very long but ran respectably on his reappearance at Wolverhampton and has place claims if coming on for that initial outing. It would be folly to ignore the claims of Gandalak, an impressive winner on his two starts for David O’Meara, and he also makes the ‘pot’.
14:15- We reach our first banker of the day in the shape of the Ed Dunlop-trained Contributer. Lightly raced as a two-year-old, where he notched up a maiden victory at Wolverhampton, Contributer showed much improved form to beat some useful rivals on his return at Newbury, displaying a professional attitude which should stand him in good stead around here.
14:45- Deteriorating conditions could pose a problem for Mount Athos, while Memphis Tennesse returns from a long absence having shaped as if amiss on his most recent start at Royal Ascot last year. In reality, though, the duo are a long way clear of their rivals on form and should fight out the finish, with Aidan O’Brien’s representative, Memphis Tennesse, granted slight preference.
15:15- Bispham Green is fairly exposed and has often found at least one too good, his only victory coming in a weak Southwell maiden, but he appeals as a reasonably consistent type and should give a good account. Storm Moon had slipped to a fair mark and took advantage at Kempton recently, winning with plenty in hand. Mark Johnston’s gelding has bagged the plum draw in stall 1 and ought to put up a bold show under his penalty.
15:50- Personal Touch appeals as a reliable type, exactly the sort you want to include in a Placepot, and can finish in the first three. He has a good record in testing conditions, so further rainfall won’t pose any problems, and has shown that he is effective at Chester. It may also be worth including Polar Kite as he is on a fair mark and arrives here in good heart having won on three of his four most recent outings.
16:25- A fairly uncompetitive race to close on and banking on the Charlie Hills-trained Callmeakhab may be enough to secure the Placepot spoils. Arbeel enters the race with the best form but has been handed a less-than-helpful draw in stall 11, so we instead turn to Callmeakhab, a similarly unexposed, twice-raced maiden that remains capable of better.

GREYHOUND RACING
—————–
Romford on Friday, the Quicksilver Trophy final takes place as the showpiece event where Airforce Roger (21:24) might well rate the value from a perfect draw. He comes from a kennel in tip-top form and the draw is perfect to build on a running-on second in the heats.
Earlier, Rummy Lord (20:18) should continue his good run of form from the pinging trap in the hurdles, while Droopys Move (20:50) remains a bitch in tip-top form and could soon be bowling in front over 575m.
The middle draw looks a better option for Nans Turbo (21:56) over 400m and he can reverse form with Benkaat Boy because of it, while back-to-form Glanmire Lad (22:11) looks a class apart from his rivals later on.
Similarly, Lughill Valerie (22:26) didn’t get the breaks latest but could ping start over 575m and get run on Mays Millhouse and the poorly drawn Head Iton Tom.

The action from the Conference semi-finals, two pivotal games taking place on Friday night…
Miami Heat @ Chicago Bulls
Series Tied 1-1
The Miami Heat crushed the Chicago Bulls 115-78 to even the series late on Wednesday night. Miami took Chicago apart with some outstanding play in the second half. LeBron James scored 19 points and had nine assists.
The Heat were much more physical in this game, and sent a clear message to Chicago that they won’t be pushed around in this series.
Game 3 takes place in Chicago on Friday night.
It has been rumored that Derrick Rose will finally make an appearance for the Bulls in this vital game. Rose has been out of action for almost a year and an appearance on Friday night would certainly ignite the home crowd.
Apparently Rose has been cleared to play for the past few weeks, but has decided to sit out his return until now. I hope he decides to play and give his team some much needed support.
Despite the anticipated return of superstar guard Derrick Rose for Chicago, I must favour Miami in this pivotal game. They have all the momentum and appear to be back to their very best.
San Antonio Spurs @ Golden State Warriors
Series Tied 1-1
The Golden State Warriors beat the San Antonio Spurs 100-91 with a superb display on Wednesday night. The Warriors proved they were mentally tough buy making some huge buckets down the stretch.
Klay Thompson scored 34 points along with Stephen Curry who had 22.
The Warriors have looked by far the better team in this series. Point-guard Stephen Curry has torched the San Antonio defence with an incredible display of athleticism and skill. Curry has played a lot of minutes, but appears to be handling the physical demands of playoff basketball very well.
I think the Spurs are in huge trouble and Golden State can take control of the series by winning Game 3.
Recommended Bets Friday
3 Points Back Miami Heat -7.5 points at 2.04
2 Points Back Golden State Warriors -2.5 points at 1.96

MILESEY’S BET OF THE DAY
————————-
ESPANYOL V REAL MADRID…….. 9PM K/O
Real Madrid seem to have been playing all-out attack for the last few games, as Jose aims to bow out amid memories of silky attacking flair rather than dour defensive gamesmanship. They travel to Barcelona on Saturday night although, sadly for El Clasico fans, it is to visit Espanyol rather than the champions elect.
Even Scotland would fancy their chances of scoring past Jose’s jokers at the moment, so even though Espanyol are the very definition of mid-table mediocrity, with no goals in their last two outings, this one looks like absolutely nailed on for Both Teams To Score.
