IT was a mixed day two for me at Cheltenham with two winners but the disappointment of seeing Boston Bob fall at the last – and cost me a chance of a double with The New One.
So what will day three bring – bulging pockets I hope. My results yesterday were:
Cheltenham
1.30 HAWKES POINT P/U
2.05 THE NEW ONE 1ST
2.40 BOSTON BOB FELL
3.20 SPRINTER SACRE 1ST
4.00 MASTER OF THE SEA 4TH
4.40 ZAMDY MAN 12TH
5.15 MILO MAN 19TH
Double
2.05 THE NEW ONE 1ST
2.40 BOSTON BOB FELL
LUCKY 15
Towcester 1.55
JEAN FLEMING 1.63
This horse is one to watch a point-to-point winner, showed some really good class last time out, is expected to get better with each race.
Towcester 5.05
FLAMING GEORGE 1.77
The rating of 122 says it all really, should have too much for this field today, Farmer Frank is a C&D winner and could be up there but my vote goes to FLAMING GEORGE.
Hexham 4.15
CARA COURT 4.3
Based on current form I am siding with CARA in this one, his form is solid.
Wolverhampton 5.45
RISKIT FORA BISKIT 1.34 (NAP)
This is a cracking pick with Hayley Turner on board, rating up after two back-to-back wins, going for the hat-trick today, the penalty shouldn't cause any problem over 5f.
CHELTENHAM
1.30 Captain Conan 7.6
2.05 Top Of The Range 17.5 e/w
2.40 CUE CARD 4.8
3.20 REVE DE SIVOLA 5.8
4.00 Hunt Ball 8.8
4.40 Vesper Bell 17.5 e/w / Relax 24. e/w
5.15 Bostons Angel 9.2
Double
CUE CARD and REVE DE SIVOLA
TIP OF THE DAY
16.40 Cheltenham – Romanesco 11.5
He was in the process of running well here and looked the likely winner when falling at the last fence in October over a similar distance to today, on soft ground. He then went to Fakenham a week later and atoned for that last fence fall by winning a competitive handicap chase off an OR of 119 over three miles quite nicely.
He was then sent off favourite for the Troytown at Navan where he was disappointing but he bounced back from that by finishing an excellent second to Colbert Station in the Paddy Power at Leopardstown over Christmas.
He scooped badly after disappointing in his most recent run at Fairyhouse over hurdles when well fancied and we can put a line through that race as he had excuses.
He's gone up 6lbs in the handicap since that run over fences at Christmas and 12lbs altogether since his win at Fakenham so he looks correctly handicapped for what he has achieved, getting in here with an OR of 131.
I'd like to think he could be quite competitive, however, and one of the best amateurs around is booked to take the ride in Nina Carberry. With conditions set to suit I would like to think he has a good each-way chance in an ultra-competitive handicap.
Good luck today

1.30 – DYNASTE(7/4). He’s a very fast horse with lots of speed and hes a good jumper, best thing about him is he’s a strong stayer. Has all the quality to win this
2.40 – CUE CARD(10/3). Remember him winning at Exeter in November (as I had him) and looked very classy, he also won the Champion Bumper 3 years ago so knows what he has to do to win.
3.20 – REVE de SIVOLA (6/1) – Alot of good horse’s in this World Hurdle but thing that impresses me about De Sivola is he’s a very strong stayer, not the best horse over fences but since switching back to hurdles hes been a revelation.
Mile set I know nothing of horses but when Cheltenham comes around I have a lucky 15 each day and yesterday I had 1 winner in Briar Hill at 25/1, it was a 50p e/w lucky 15 at Paddy Power but I don’t know if they give treble the odds on a single winner or if its just the same odds at SP? Trying 2 see what the returns should be before I go
Misley has tipped up3 horses in the 4.40 which one is his best tip?
hey was thinking of doing a treble on 2.40 cue card 3.20 reve de sivola 5.45 riskit fora biskit should I e/w it
15.20 Chelts …. BOG WARRIOR or REVE de SIVOLA
From Milesey….
No Hexham
Racing’s off at Hexham because of a frozen track and Towcester inspects at 8.30am for today’s meeting.
Second check for Towcester
Officials are hopeful of racing going ahead, but will inspect again at 10.30am for today’s meeting.

Reve De Sivola in the 15.20 at Cheltenham.
This talented individual beat Oscar Whisky in game fashion over this course in January. He took the lead before the final flight and held on grimly near the finish.
He has rock solid credentials coming in to this race, and should go very close at a fair price in this fascinating encounter. At present he is trading at 6.05/1 on the exchange
Reve de Sivola looks to have outstanding claims after beating Oscar Whisky in the Cleeve Hurdle on Trials Day.
Connections of the runner-up have given a couple of possible excuses for his defeat, such as a feeling he wasn’t 100% and that the holding ground was against him, but the going was no kinder for the Nick Williams runner, who has been falsely talked of as a heavy-ground specialist. The fact remains that his outstanding efforts as a novice, both at Cheltenham and Punchestown, came on a lively surface, and he’s a lot more adaptable than he’s given credit for. Having also slammed last year’s third, Smad Place, on his previous start, he should be a clear favourite for this event, but he simply isn’t “sexy” enough to grab the wider public attention. He’ll look a lot sexier at about half past three.
Back Reve de Sivola in the 15:20 @ 6.05/1

TIP OF THE DAY
16.40 Cheltenham – Romanesco 11.5
Posted this in the BONKERS BET thread, thought I’d put it here aswell so hopefully more people see it & can get on it if they fancy
2.05 ARDKILLY WITNESS @ 33/1
Similar form to SHUTTHEFRONTDOOR, pair raced recently at Carlise where Shutthefrontdoor narrowly beat Ardkilly Witness by 1/2 length. Same jockey aboard both today, McCoy on Shutthefront door, who has been raised 8lbs to 11-8 , while ARDKILLY WITNESS carries 10-13, with a 7lb claimer for jockey Cristopher Ward. 10-13 is bottom weight, with the 7lb claimer Ardkilly Witness is only carrying 10-6!
Good each way bet for me!
sam *WINNER* for me :)
Had narrowed it down to ARDKILLY WITNESS & HOLLYWELL, had both on each way so nice profit, Hollywell was 20/1, SP was 25/1 so even better!

Brilliant Milesey!
Al (PhD), you never mentioned Hollywell until after it won! You’re good at that, lol
When have I done that before?? Never had time to type that out before the race went off. Put up my bonkers bet, which was the other horse I backed in the race, as that’s the one I fancied more out of the 2.
Would you have backed it if I had? Probably not!
wow wow solwhit i had it e/w what a ride by the old man :) :) :) :)
CUE CARD came in, but REVE DE SIVOLA 4th :(
£100 on the nose mileseys tip of the day ROMANESCO!!
least he put in a good effort i had Cue Card & Oscar Whisky such a awful run from him was risky at the course length but still expected much closer affair
Al, you sure you not gunner in disguise? I see he’s at it again today! Also you often come out with things like mentioning your Canadian bets after the first 2 or 3 have come in, lol
Think your confusing me with someone else mate as I never do canadian bets! Often do small stakes trebles & up over 5 selections
Hunt Ball 4th, that’ll do, a nice wee each way bet
Romanesco *3RD* Each way winner!!
At least I got my stake back from earlier and a bit of profit.
Cheers!
Anyone noticed that Coral’s website seems to have crashed again? Just froze me out and won’t let me back in no matter how many times I tried. I tried ringing their Customer Service line but it’s permanently engaged.
Thing is, I was trying to bet on Same Difference in the 4.40 and it’s only gone and won now!
I emailed their help email address before the race went off confirming my details (username etc)and that I wanted to back Same Difference. Mr F do you know if I can expect anything off them please?
Cheers
