THE Voice of Value is an amateur tipster with a love for racing and jumps in particular. He caught the bug at an early age when his grandfather had a share in a winning chaser and his annual Grand National and Cheltenham guides have been well received our the past few years.

We're delighted to have him aboard and here is the seventh and final of his detailed day-one write-ups and tips for the greatest show on turf.

Novices Handicap Chase

– 5.15 p.m.

– 2m 4f

– Fences

– Class 1 Listed Race

Another competitive handicap with more questions for us than answers.  Most of these novices haven’t had many runs over fences so there isn’t a huge amount of form to go on.  I like to look for a potential improver who perhaps hasn’t reached his peak yet.

Main Selection:  Leap Dearg – 16-1 (Totesport)

In truth, I can’t even pronounce the name of this lad but I like the form and he is definitely an improver having won his last 3 on the bounce.  Those weren’t particularly good races but he has unknown potential and looks to be in great form so might be worth an each way punt.

Each way selection:  Bold Henry – 11-1 (Totesport)

Was travelling well when he parted company with his jockey last time out.  He has a win at Cheltenham to his name and looked a quality horse on that occasion.  If he can keep the jumping errors to a minimum I think he is a well-handicapped horse who could challenge.

Betting suggestions:

Leap Dearg – 1pt each way at 16-1

Bold Henry – 0.5pts each way at 16-1
