NEWMARKET'S opening maiden could well develop into a strong piece of form with several well-bred newcomers, notably Musical Comedy, Stalactite and Zarwaan, lining up against a couple that have shaped well on their debuts, namely Munjally and Gm Hopkins.
We’re going to side with experience and, of the aforementioned duo, the one fancied to land the spoils is Gm Hopkins, trained by John Gosden, who cost €120,000 as a yearling and is out of the useful mare Varsity.
The two-year-old caught the eye in no uncertain terms on his racecourse bow at Newbury, slowly into stride but soon travelling well at the rear of the field prior to being hampered just as he was called on for his effort, keeping on strongly without being knocked about to take fourth.
The suspicion is that, with a clear run, he could have won that day and looks open to significant improvement with that experience under his belt.
The William Haggas-trained Sun Central has won three times in his short career to date, taking a marked step forward when entering the winners’ enclosure at Salisbury on his seasonal reappearance, and although he remains open to improvement we’re going to take him on with the reopposing Castilo del Diablo, who finished four places behind him that day.
A combination of rustiness and being caught out by a steady pace hindered Castilo del Diablo’s chances but he caught the eye nonetheless, hitting the line with something still left in the tank.
The step up to this trip will be ideal and he is taken to reverse the form with Sun Central on 5lb better terms here.
Enrol is fancied to land the 2.55. The four-year-old has improved with each outing, tasting success on her last three visits to the track, and the likelihood is she will progress further still as she remains unexposed.
Her reappearance win at Doncaster was particularly impressive and, with her outstanding trainer firing in winners across the country, she could well take some stopping in this six-furlong handicap.

Greyhound Derby second round heats live on RPGTV on Saturday – with the favourite Ballymac Eske taking centre-stage and punters hoping Barrie Draper’s dog can step up on a workmanlike first-round victory.
Heat 9
Barrie Draper’s Farloe Warhawk (19:54) is a terrific early paced performer who won the Puppy Derby here last year. He’s had a stop start year but showed good pace in the first round and will improve. Charlie Lister’s Silverview Pinky will be no pushover, however, and neither will Irish sprinter Stonepark Crash. A lead is vital for all three. Priceless Sky is talented for Paul Hennessy’s team but must up his game.
Heat 10
Barrie Draper’s Ballymac Eske (20:10) is the Derby favourite and, while coming through to win his heatin workmanlike style, he will need to step up again. However, in a weakish heat with a crack draw inside, he takes the beating. Boherna Rumble showed pace to win his heat and another fast start will put the jolly under pressure. Isabels Boy’s 28.68 trial suggests better is to come and the Matt Dartnall camp have a great record in the Derby
Heat 11
Paul Young’s Jaytee Hellcat (20:26) came through to win his Derby heat well and will step up, given a 28.34 before the event underlines his class. He has a good Wimbledon record. Islas Scolari stays on well but turn in a pitch here, while Droopys Ed Moses remains an enigmatic sort. But when he gets going (usually late) he really does power home
Heat 12
Liz McNair’s Cabra Buck (20:42) failed to dominate in his heat but kept on well and will look to blast out in this Derby heat with slower breakers either side and a great chance to secure an early advantage in the second round. Loughteen Blanco is a terrific early paced performer but needs to find his form, and quickly. He looked a real contender towards the end of last year and will lok to blast out. Smiler Jack is strong over this trip as a 575m Romford competition winner.
Heat 13
Barrie Draper’s Fire Height Spec (20:58) is another Draper star ready to dominate again, although his battle early with Irish star Holborn Junior might well decide this. Maybe the draw favours the white jacket if he comes away. Shaneboy Alley took a tumble after the line in his heat but has searing pace to the bend when everything clicks
Heat 14
Keith Alsop’s Slick Santiago (21:15) ran well behind a good winner in the first round and will step up for this second round Derby heat, especially with the switch to stripes interesting even though he is a middle runner. Benkaat Blue can smash break and might need catching. Priceless Pilot finishes fastest of all.
Heat 15
Barrie Draper’s Eden Star (21:32) showed real guts to win his first round Derby heat and, better when dominating his races, can up his game once leading up here. However, it might not all be plain sailing with Skate On set to steal a march inside. Greenwell Mentor can also ping to lead in a race where the lead might well be crucial
Heat 16
Charlie Lister’s Lemon Pluto (21:48) can smash break inside and his battle with fast-starting Shaneboy Spencer looks key here, with both useful off the front. Timewise you have to favour the latter, but the draw and likely improvement comes from red. Screen Critic starts well, won his heat well and is best placed to sweep round if the inside pair come together.

Milesey I see one of the horses you have to follow is running today, Salford Red Devil, you fancy it’s chances at all?
Not spotted it, where is at running ?
I’d have to see what it up against, but first run was third and looked like it will progress well.
Milesey
Salford red devil storms home!!!
First at Chester, 2.10 round the 6/1 mark, although it has a wide draw to contend with again similar to first run.
cheers mate i’ll be on it, stall 9, 8 runners, not too bad if it gets out well and can drop in nicely.
Milesey
I’ll have a bet on it as well, could be a good start to the day with a winner in the 2.05 and the 2.10
When you mention a horse being “unexposed”, is that a good thing or bad thing when checking the form guides?
Information is power and in the early part of the season in particular. On many occasions you won’t have much more information in a 3 yo race than in a 2 yo race and the information available may be seriously misleading. Once again the form book often goes out of the window with 3 yo horses; shocking as it may seem, some trainers don’t want their horses to win as 2 yos. If a horse wins a race as a 2 yo the official handicapper often over reacts and gives a horse an unrealistic Handicap mark in what turns out to be a weak race, virtually wiping out its chances of winning as a 3 yo.
Is it any wonder then that certain trainers will look to the future and run their juveniles three times when the horse isn’t fully wound up or running over an inappropriate distance? This way the horse has a better chance of being well handicapped as a 3 yo as the handicapper may realise what is going on, but can only rate a horse on the evidence of what he has seen on the track. Look for trainers who operate this way;Sir Mark Prescott is the master; he runs his 2 yos who are bred for longer middle distance races over 5 or 6 furlongs, knowing they have no chance of winning given their breeding. As a consequence they are extremely well handicapped and often run up long winning sequences as 3 yos when upped to an appropriate trip.
Milesey
Milesey- do you ever do a tricast.? I did three last night as a sort of trial run with only 10p stakes and four selections and two of them came up. Only won a small amount but I have more dough to play with today maybe do one in the 3.20 at Chester. Looking at Nos 1-6-8 and one more to be selected.
have done in races where there are stand out horses, i.e in a sprintre sacre race…. for they are more profitable then taking an outright winner.

have a great day today people, hope your bets all come in… ;) well done to the people who had nice early wins, enjoy the rest of your day with your winnings :), i’m off, NEWMARKET and WIMBLEDON dogs tonight. Milesey, good stuff. Never got near it because laptop wasn’t working. Replaced the hard drive and up and running now. Willl post some of your comments then go walk the dug in this balmy Scottish weather that’s not to bound to last.
speedfiend 1.45 newmarket. just got a phone call fi ma dad and checked and it’s been bet fi 33/1 to 5/1. stable boy tip but obviously folk have snatched up the bigger odds
Bookies must make a fortune from horses, i fully understand that if ALL favorites won they wouldn’t exist but too many fail for my liking….but hopefully there will be a few winners today
Good to see the first winner come in for those that took the tip…well done Milesey and everyone else :-)
They won’t make a fortune if you keep doing that!
After Mossey Joe yesterdays winning nap at 4/1 :) today we go for TOP NOTCH TONTO 3.45 BEVERLEY good luck with your bets folks.
well done milesy ?. w.t.f….
milesy tips up to 10 nags a day
and also several tips on other sports.
chances are someone will pick the odd
one out of that lot.
I’ll put one horse up tomorrow then and see the response, do you have a lucky 15 ? any doubles today ? whats your nap today ? i’m going to Ascot any tips ? i’m trying to help the people, but obviously wrong of me to do so, but at least i post tips and not absolute drivel that has no interest on this site, a tip is a tip regardless of where it comes from you, if i doing anything wrong, not helping people then i’ll look forward to hearing from the FIXIT POLICE !
tips like wolves, brisbane strikers, aren’t found on betfair.
Milesey
Milesey, firstly you know my feelings on you and Chris Guy and it’s getting pretty tedious. As far as the tips go sometimes you put up a lot, other days less. It’s up to people to look at the tip and then decide for themselves if it’s good or bad. It would be easy for me just to put a single every day but as you say I’d then get questions about loads of teams and markets.
HOLD ON !
He put this up and i asked what the TIP was, i don’t get the post he made, SIMPLE.
“”””Played roulette on Monday and was down a few hundred. I deposited a further £500 and was
Going to use it for two spins. £250 per spin consisting of £50 on 0,14,17,20,23. My first spin number 17 came in and I was jumping up and down with joy. Imagine my disgust when a message appeared on my screen saying bet was not placed on time. I was bloody raging. Anyway back and forth to the William Hill casino customer services. I was raging as I would have had a return of £1800, £1550 profit. They kept saying things like blaming my Internet connection,
Programmes running in the background, delete cookies etc etc. Anyway they said they would investigate the matter and let me know within 48hrs then 72hrs and still nothing. I phoned them this morning and they told me they had completed their investigation. They could see I attempted to place the bet but unfortunately due the bet was not placed on time due to a fault on their behalf. The girl said we are just going to credit your online account with £1550 within the next 5 mins. I couldn’t believe it. Hats off to Wiiliam Hill admitting their offer and I received my payment into my account marked as a goodwill gesture. I was thinking they would have offered me a free bet or some nonsense or even a couple of hundred quid. Happy days.””””
Milesey, I know where you’re coming from but there’s room for some betting chat and banter. Tips are good but people don’t always have a tip to contribute. What i got from that post was he was simply praising up William Hill for good customer service. But sure the stakes annoy some.
Milesey, your doing fine, all these people only have problems because they don’t follow you or add one of yours into there own bet, which they don’t reveal only that the one they picked of yours failed to win. Hope you backed the devil today, was a good winner early doors to add to football, I’m off to Florida for a fortnight so hope u don’t get to many big ones up
lets be homest there’s room for some banter…in fact Mr F pays me a healthy retainer cos he likes the sexual innuendo talk etc i contribute to spice up the site..aint that right Paul? :-)

BACK – TRADING LEATHER @ 9/4 BET365
TRADING LEATHER has to be the selection to gain his third victory. A Group 3 winner last season, he started this campaign with a narrow defeat by Derby runner-up Libertarian in the Dante before his third place behind Magician in the 2000 Guineas here, form that looks too strong for these rivals.
Milesey
That’s it from me for tomorrow on here, got some nice tips i’ll keep to myself, alright when your on holiday and i keep the ball rolling on here, but obviously i post too much, so there you go then, and reading through the comments it’s hard to tell who actually runs this site “” I said I’d be quite happy with the other tips “” ha ha what an absolute joke a selective few people can be sometimes, you post too many tips, but i don’t mind using them as a main thread ?
Milesey
Milesey, why do you react to one person, Chris Guy. Everyone else pretty much happy with what you do.
Milesey, you’ve lost me a bit. This “alright when your on holiday and I keep the ball rolling” stuff. Did I not email you with my thanks? I’ve not criticised you or your tips. If you don’t want to send tips do it for the right reason not because of what Chris Guy or one or two others say.
you were basically agreeing with them that i post too many tips, “” As far as the tips go sometimes you put up a lot “” , but it’s fine to clutter the site with absolute rubbish about how much you won, what good is that to anyone, i thought this site was about helping others, not boasting about how much you won !
Milesey
……………and i am going to send tips, one a day !
Milesey
Milesey, as I said that’s up to you but you know I welcome the contribution and I’ve never said otherwise. I’ve won a few quid off you for starters. You obviously feel unloved so let’s open it up: Should Milesey keep posting lots of tips? Yes or No.
I don’t want a poll, and don’t need to feel loved thank you, people always have a problem so it’s best if i stick to one tip and obviously people can follow me on twitter, even you can follow me MR F ! @Milesey1978
Milesey
Milesey, you need a thicker skin like the one I’ve grown. I don’t listen to the critics because at the end of the day we do our best and if it’s not good enough then tough.
Milesey, I didn’t say you post too many tips, never have. I just said there was room for some banter and chat as well.
aw cmom Milesey don’t leave the site because of a bit of fair does out of hand banter in the past few weeks a lot of folk depend on your horse racing tips on the site in general wee see eye 2 eye don’t let your punters down
not leaving just cutting down on the tips, i’ll post 1 a day…… while others post sh*t but that’s fine for they aren’t cluttering up the site. Should be more comments about how much you won, and less tips on here.
Milesey
Put them on here Milesey- I don’t use Twitter.
already got a few ex members of this site i email tips to on a daily basis, so anyone welcome……….. and it’s free !
Milesey
Milesey, do as you please but I’m not the person complaining about the number of tips.
Please don’t stop if it wisny fir u there wud be no trips ti the seaside don’t no how to twitter but can spot a genuine honest tipster I.ll follow ur one a day canny understand mugs that moan bout gettin winner’s Free
I somewhat catch your drift a tip a day keeps the screws away I enjoy the site aswell but its not the be al and end all mare bothered aboot the wee dirty geed me g=hof the come on HAHA Danboy always gets what he wants all in the name of yer jam role know wit a mean man
Tony brer you jammin ma man
Milesey I think u misinterpreted what Paul wrote earlier…he said “As far as the tips go sometimes you put up a lot, other days less”. Maybe read it over again, think uve picked it up wrong there?
New to this site, love the banter but some of is getting tiresome. Keep up the the good work troops
quote.
I don’t want a poll, and don’t need to feel loved thank you,
, but it’s fine to clutter the site with absolute rubbish about how much you won, what good is that to anyone
HOW ARROGANT IS THIS MAN ??
isn’t this is what he does with his
get insssss and
boooooms when his tips come in,
except he doesn’t say how much he had on or won.
aren’t people allowed to rejoice in the fact that they beat the bookies every now and then.
MISERY GUTS ? fake name just made up today, made up by who i wonder !
Milesey
GO AWAY, your boring me now !
Milesey
im spartacus
I’ve been following Milesy’s dog tips. 3 out of 8 won so far. Good stuff
did you back all 8, if so are you in profit ???
No i mixed and matched a few small stakes trebles out of them, just a bit of fun as i know very little about dogs.
I totally agree with Bonnine, i know nothing about dogs or horses and appreciate the tips, learning slowly but surely though :-)
Misery I can see you are a troll. Out to cause trouble, there are over 30 races daily and someone puts at least 7 tips and you complain. Its obvious you are a fair weather punter. You rely on people to feed your bank, pls your comments are beginning to irritate. If you don’t like the fact someone celebrates a tip then you know where the delete button is.

Why is everyone rounding on miserable guts.
There is some creedence in what he says.
if you are there misery, conor is deflecting
The fact he has lost shedfulls of cash by turning
On you.
And arnie is conor if you get my drift.
Very sad
Jasper, Conor, I’ve been fed-up with the slanging matches going on here for some time. I don’t really understand it. Anyone who doesn’t like or appreciate the tips should simply stay away. This site in general looks at UK football and the top flights in Europe. If Milesey has gone we’ll look at filling that void and during the summer plan ahead for what will be a busy season for the site when the action resumes late July.
