IT was a really good Saturday for Winning Insights who put tips up for four races and picked two winners and a place.

Let's hope you were on all on Rawaki in the 3.35 at Windsor. Our man picked it out at 14-1 and it came home in front at a starting price of 10-1. He also took favourite Clowance Estate in the same race and it finished third.

Winning Insights' other winner came in the 4.05pm at Newmarket thanks to Nabucco at 10-3 and he completed a fine day's work by tipping Bank On Me each-way at 6-1 in the 7.45 at Domcaster. It finished third so the bank balance was raised slightly.

Since replacing Milesey – who I'll stress again left at his own accord – Winning Insights has come in for some stick, unfairly in my opinion.

He does his research, puts up his selections and overall his record is decent after a bad start when people wanted to judge him on one day's results. He stepped up to the plate at short notice and as far as his efforts are appreciated.

I hope you agree he did well on Saturday and let's see if he can come back on Sunday with some more winners.

Don't forget to leave your own thoughts in the comments section below. But if you're just going to come on and say: “Those tips are shit” then don't bother.

And by the way that comment was left before any of his horses ran on Saturday.

I apologise for having a rant but don't tell us when Milesey picks winners either. Tell the great man yourself.

Well done winning insights, I don’t back the horses myself but glad your making a profitable contribution to the site. Keep up the good work.

Who am I to bet against the Chief? I don’t think the Broner fight had anything to do with it. I just think Rees is a spent bullet. Obviously, I bet the most on a Rees KO of all the fights tonight! Made good money on Smith and Quigg and lost it all here. Always happens though.

I know the basics about them. I look into their past form at the distances it’s ran and how it’s performed in different conditions at those distances. If it’s an AW or turf specialist as I was getting caught out with that regularly by betting the wrong types of horses on turf. I look too see the RPR too see its previous winning marks f thats any good lol. It’s the betting side I don’t understand much with all the different markets

Thanks Mr F. As you know because I look for value there are losing runs, and that approach isn’t for everyone, each to their own. Results need to be assessed over a period, month by month and longer. After two weeks we are +15% return on main selections, which is below where I want to be i.e. 20% at least but it is two weeks. Of 31 selections, there are 4 winners and 8 placed, so it only needed another one or two winners at reasonable prices to get the return above target, and that’s what we aim to do. Key thing is patience and sometimes that’s in short supply with punters! The patient ones, not ranting, not chasing losses, will be the ultimate winners. End of Sunday sermon. Back Monday.

Winning Insights, any return on horses is decent as far as I can make out. Most people who have criticised have an agenda (that is they are Milesey supporters and if they want his tips they know where to go) so I’d ignore them and get on with it. You came on board at a difficult time to be honest but Milesey chose to go and you’ve provided some well-researched racing coverage on a site that people should remember is really a football site. While you’re quoting figures I’ll quote one. Milesey’s racing tips were read on average by 3 per cent of site visitors. The others came here for football tips so any claims the site would “die” without Milesey are completely wrong and our traffic has been exceptional considering it’s the close season.

Well said WI. Im sure these idiots were just looking for a reaction and so I wouldn’t give them any more acknowledgment. Your input is appreciated. Any horse racing tips for today? Frazer

Thanks Frazer. Sorry, but tend to have Sunday off from selections – I had a quick look anyway and didn’t see any races that suit me. All the best.

Im not to sure who the ‘tipster was on ‘Wed 27th’ but I have had one of my most profitable weeks in ‘horse racing’,,and i am very much an amateur when it comes to horse betting,,,
Wed 27th,,4.10 Warwick Al Thumama @9/2 ‘a great tip’ which set me up for a very nice Saturday….

The best tips that WI put yesterday was NOT tipping the 2 most tipped horses in the UK..Salford Red Devil, beat & Ruler of the world, still running !!!
Everyone has a lean time WI,,keep up the good work mate,,even MrF gets it wrong and Im sure he would be the first to say that his incredible run of ‘super singles’ last season will be near impossible to replicate although I will certainly be on them again come August :)

SilentJoe, well said. The thing about every tipster is they have good and bad spells. Winning Insights is doing fine and I’ll do my best to repeat last year’s Super Single success but if it doesn’t happen it won’t be for lack of effort – it will because results don’t always go as expected.

Winning Insights thanks for the continued points system and haven’t had a chance to bet this week with work, but appreciate the time and effort it takes to study these races. As I’ve said before and will always say if people aren’t expecting losses along the way then betting isn’t for them. Long-term profit is my goal and over the years the crow ain’t flown straight, but three steps forward two steps back works for me. Keep posting my friend (assumption now!) We are all old,big and ugly enough to live and die by our OWN selections from the plethora of information you, Paul and many more add to this site. As such if they aren’t happy with the outcome then re-evaluate how they use the insight provided. Enjoy the rest of the weekend and if you don’t get a winner with your next tips, SO WHAT, i’m certain it wasn’t from lack of effort!!! Thanks again and especially to Paul for the site, but to everyone who’s prepared to share their views and hopefully not get PILLORIED when a third party driven result unfortunately doesn’t win!!

scouseorca, you’ve summed it up all. Making a long-term profit should be the aim, not chasing losses.

I am unbiased as I’m relatively new to here, so I don’t know what went on ref milsey etc, my issue with the tips are that they are each way horses at very short prices, for me that’s not really good tipping. I mean ur strike rate isn’t that bad but when you consider the prices and size of fields it doesn’t reflect the true accuracy of your predictions. Yes I know your new to the site and want to impress but each way at 4/1 6/1 which I’ve seen quite a few isn’t good tipping especially in horse racing where multiple odds on favourites are beatin every day, so I think it’s unfair to have a rant at people for voicing their opinions if they continue to keep coming back for help to beat the bookie! Now that’s a rant lol

M Scott, people can voice opinions but make it constructive. Some of the early comments were ridiculous and childish. And it doesn’t matter what price you tip as long as you make a profit. Don’t refuse short-priced winners if that’s what you get.

  13. Avatar of M Scott

I agree the comments from some ppl were childish, and a winner is a winner, but what I’m sayin is he is pickin races with 8 runners so he gets his 3 places, of course. But then to have a 4/1 each way? For me that’s not an a tip, that’s playin it safe in a sport where there’s no such think as safe…. I saw u mention sight traffic so obviously it’s important ppl return, I just can’t see it happenin with these tips. No offence WI but 18% strike rate is good n all, but consider such small profit wins (and the odd half decent one) il be a spectator for now :-) but I do agree that 2 weeks isn’t enough time to rate a tipster especially when it’s on horses, bookies bread n butter

M Scott, not many of his ew picks have been 4-1, most are between 8-1 and 12-1. Secondly, on the site traffic, a small percentage of our visitors read the racing tips and that’s how it’s always been. Most come for the football.

So it’s just a bit of a side dish, not really an issue then! Lol I just realised I’m in yesterday’s post haha

    • Avatar of Mr Fixit

M Scott, didn’t say that. I was talking about your reference to site traffic. This is predominantly a football site but we know the appetite is there for racing too.
