ROYAL ASCOT starts today and will it be animal magic for Animal Kingdom who is a short-priced favourites to win the Queen Anne Stakes won by the Frankel at 1-10 last year?
South African star Shea Shea will be be backed for the King's Stand Stakes before Dawn Approach attempts to return to his Classic best in the St James's Palace Stakes.
The Ascot Stakes is the opening handicap of the week and the focus will be on Tiger Cliff, run by Lady Cecil.
Frankie Dettori and is a big outsider at 33-1 with Ladbrokes to be top jockey at the meeting – and that's 12th favourite.
It promises to be a great day of betting and Winning Insights tips will be up later.
Hopefully he'll have you cracking open the bubbly and Ladbrokes say more champagne corks will pop at Royal Ascot this week than ever.
The bookies make it odds-on at 1-2 that last year's total of 51,000 bottles is beaten at the five-day meeting with Pimm's (4-6) to top last year's 44,524 glasses and draught beer (10-11) to beat 173,776.
As for food it looks a safe bet more macaroons are eaten at 4-7 while the sharp increase in the market price of lobster looks to send the dish beyond the budget of most racegoers with 3-1 the price they shift more than the 2050kg sold in 2012. Macaroons stalled at 50,000 in 2012.
Alex Donohue of Ladbrokes said: “It looks like a bumper crowd will need plenty of refreshment as the sun is set to shine on Royal Ascot. In terms of sustenance, macaroons are on the up at the expense of lobster.”
Just two questions: Who counts the number of macaroons sold? And do Lee's do lobsters (that's one for the Scots)?

Today at Ascot I’m doing a totally random placepot with two lucky dips in each race- 64 bets. With so many runners (28 in the last race) picking a winner will be well nigh impossible.

Here’s my Ascot placepot for today. I decided to go with the FAV in races one and three to cut the lines and did random numbers for the other races with three choices for the final 28 runner race. 24 bets x stake (50p in my case)

KP, first of all there are no promises on this site about anything. It’s a free site so we can do as much or as little as we like. Winning Insights will be covering Ascot but whether that’s today, tomorrow or every day then I don’t know. This site is predominantly about football so honestly for racing tips you should use other sites too or check out the Racing Post. And regarding the old tipster he walked away.

Definitely elusive kate for the opener at Royal Ascot. She is a front runner with a pace and speed rating well above her rivals. She will dictate from start to finish.
Is a reverse forecast the same as a combination forecast?
What is a reverse forecast?
It is two straight forecast bets i.e: 1st horse selected to beat 2nd horse selected and 2nd horse selected to beat 1st horse selected.
So you choose two selections and it is two separate forecast bets.
What is a combination forecast?
This is the same as a reverse forecast. A combination forecast is all possible forecasts in all-possible orders.
For example: If you choose three selections in an event there are SIX different forecast bets if you bet on all combinations of straight forecast among those three selections.
So a combination forecast is taking more than two selections and have all possible straight forecast combinations with them.
If you stake £1 you are actually placing 6 straight forecast bets, costing a total of £6, using your three selections. All possible Straight Forecast combinations are covered and you will win if two of your three selections come 1st and 2nd in whatever order that happens. Because if that does happen then one of your six forecasts has been landed.

Thanks 1plus2 that has cleared that up for me :) so when lee said he is doing a reverse forecast with animal kingdom, elusive kate and trade storm that is £6 stake with 6 straight forecasts being covered.
Well Boogie obviously you can stake accordingly u can do whatever stakes you feel comfortable with m8 but yes all possible combinations are covered in a combi forecast which is 6 bets when 3 selections are picked.
