MOVING the site onwards and upwards I'm pleased to (re)-introduce Winning Insights who will be providing us with his best tip of the day and kick-start the discussion on each day's racing.
Winning Insights made a successful if brief appearance on the site a year or so ago before work commitments limited his contributions. The plan going forward is to provide at least one top tip most days but since he's going to Musselburgh today and has made his own selections for the card, he's putting up two main selections, with some comments on the other races. Wish him luck!
Musselburgh – main selections
- 4.10 Set The Trend (8-1 e/w Stan James). Looks pretty open race but top weight is a firm selection.
- 5.10 Ptolemy (9-1 e/w Ladbrokes). Size will start clear favourite at short odds probably and may well win, but Ptolemy offers solid value alternative.
Comments on the rest of the card :
1.55 Wide open 5f start to the card – may be worth siding with Liberty Island (12-1 William Hill) at a decent e/w price.
2.25 Lexington Rose looks opposable (lay bet?) and all other five runners could win. Orton Park (8-1 Coral) has an interesting background, worth e/w again (only two places on offer of course).
3.00 We have Lady Kashaan and Twelve Strings as possibly the most likely winners with Jonny Delta possibly in the mix but like the look of Platinum as a value e/w option.
3.35 Reluctant to put anything up from a 20 runner sprint, though the main race of the day, as a main selection, but fancy Bosun Breese (16-1 Paddy Power) each way.
4.40 Despite significant weight increase, Royal Skies (4-6 Bet365) looks best choice.
Good luck!
Platinum in the 3:00 now a non-runner.
13:50 @ Sandown – NOBLE GIFT (6.0) William hill
Successful at 7f and 1m on good to soft and heavy ground. A winner at 5-1 at Nottingham over 1m (good to soft) on his latest outing last month, beating Cash Is King by 1 1/2l.

It wasn’t to be on first day back with the two main selections at Musselburgh today guys. Some short odd favourites plus some unexpected outsiders was order of the day. Hey ho. Back next week with Royal Ascot focus.
Winning Insights, you can’t always get it right but I’m sure you’ll get it right some of the time.
Regarding your new resident racing tipster might I suggest you sack him Mr fixit,i mean he went through the whole card and came up with nothing, only time he mentioned a winner was when he suggested we lay it and the horse then wins with ease, this chap knows nothing about horses none of his selections were even placed.Honestly ive never seen anyone tip as badly.
Galloping tips, don’t be daft. One day and you want him sacked – give the guy I chance.
Paul, Galopping gourmet is one of the shit stirrers on days gone by under another pyseuodym on this site i’d imagine?

I understand plenty Paul I understand the effects the site would have back 10 month ago lol but shit happens know and to answer your cheap shot I understand a lot mare than you think pal an you’ve got a good 15 year on me lets not fall out
Danny, I’m not trying to fall out and I’m not taking cheap shots at you. I asked you to watch what you’re saying, that’s all, and I stand by it.
Ya reckon ya coodbust a ton at Merion Paul in this layout, from normal medal tees rather than Tiger tees?
Guido, at my best yes coz I hit it pretty straight and putt well but at my worst no chance. Working today but really wet this morning anyway.
No need to be getting on anyones back over the racing today, obviously the favorites are not going to win all the time otherwise bookies wouldn’t exist but alot of outsiders have been winning and not many could predict that, i for one won’t be going mad on horse racing after the last few days :-)
