FAKENHAM PLACEPOT
——————————–
14:00 – Mawaakef was useful on the Flat and could be involved on hurdling debut but we’re more interested in siding with a couple with experience, namely Lyssio and Cottesmore. The first mentioned caught the eye on his debut in this sphere, finishing sixth at Huntingdon, and the booking of A P McCoy catches the eye whilst Cottesmore, who was a fair performer for Mark Johnston on the level, travelled well for a long way at Southwell and will be suited by this better ground.
14:30 – Cry Of Freedom was the best of these over timber and, having made a solid start over the larger obstacles at Wetherby last time, seems likely to take a good deal of beating. He’s not an obvious type to excel over fences but he ought to have too much firepower for his rivals here.
15:00 – A couple of non-runners leave us with just the two places to aim at but we’re still fairly happy to bank upon Clouds Of Mist. The eight-year-old relished the step up to this sort of trip when winning at Cartmel six days ago and he looks well treated turned out swiftly under a penalty.
15:30 – The Black Baron probably doesn’t have much in hand of the handicapper but he is a dual C&D winner and has largely acquitted himself well of late, so he appeals as being an ideal starting point. We’re also going to stick in My Flora, who has been knocking on the door since contesting handicaps in this sphere and seems sure to go well once more.
16:00 – Parc Na Gcapall is far from the most genuine performer but he has been given a chance by the handicapper and may have been freshened up by a spell in the point-to-point field recently, so he is worth having on side. Ifonlyalfie has a higher mark to contend with than when finishing second last time but he is consistent and can be relied upon to run his race, so is an ideal Placepot horse.
16:30 – Again we have just the two places to aim at but the Susan Gardner-trained Bach On Tow has been progressing well of late and looks to have been found a decent opportunity to hit the mark once more.
Selections:
14:00 – 5, 11
14:30 – 2
15:00 – 2
15:30 – 2, 3
16:00 – 3, 5
16:30 – 4
= 8 lines
*********
Bach On Tow has been progressing well and his trainer appears to have found him a nice opportunity to add another win in the 16:30. Bach On Tow showed improved form to open his account at Taunton in April and, following a creditable effort in defeat at the same course, he progressed further to win at Newton Abbot last month. Bach On Tow arguably did well to win at Newton Abbot as he made rapid headway three furlongs from home, making a wide sweeping move before sticking on well in the closing stages. That represented a career-best effort and he ought to be tough to beat.
Back Bach On Tow in the 16:30

Hardly a surprise though since you had been on a great winning streak. Swings and roundabouts. Best to lower the stakes till the winning touch inevitably returns ;)
Bach on Tow is supposedly the horse to bet on tomorrow
Has anyone any thoughts on Marchese Marconi in the 4.40 at Listowel thanks
It seems to be the odds on favourite in that race so it’s up to you if you feel like backing it, personally i wouldn’t back it as i’ve seen quite a few odds on favourites lose this week but i’m only new to horse racing
I agree john iv been hammered by the favourites this week also ….
2:30 FAKENHAM
CRY OF FREEDOM 2/1
Successful in two hurdle races at 2m and 2m 1f on good to firm and good to soft ground. Beaten 3 1/2l by Jack The Gent when second of 4 at 11-8 on his chase debut at Wetherby over 2m (good) last month.
SEEMS TO BE BEING TIPPED AS THE BEST BET TODAY ?

I fancy Kians Delight Milesy
The ferguson horse isn’t too handy going left handed.
Good luck
Three horses I bet on either refused to run (Derwen Pride), or fell (Almadan & Turf Trivia) AAAArrghhh
Went for a LUCKY KITTEN and BACH ON TOW double
I wouldn’t mind picking up a winning double once in a while, can’t seem to get one winner nevermind a double…lol but we shall soldier on
Do you not get refunded if the nag refuses to run?
Nope, it’s one of them things……… i’ve had it a couple times with the same horse “” MAD MOOSE “”, I’d never ever bet on him again, even when he is lead in he just plants his feet and refuses.

:-) widna say I’m a expert or massive follower but always have a wee interest especialy in the summer when football is restricted and usually follow a few thru their career etc I remember years ago I used to like horse called Maylane, not far off being top quality I think..he was the same…think if he ran he usually won/very talented horse but at least half the time he dug his hoofs in and refused. Usually this was mirrored in his prices which were usually around the 8/1 mark cos it was in the lap of the gods whether he could be arsed or not :-)
jeez, glad Jonas Blixt or Weisberger didnt win the golf…was gonna do bothand noticed they were in the mix but totally slipped my mind to back them on Wed night..widda been kicking myself. Won the June medal at the golf yesterday..:-) prize was either a stupid tin medal (got a number over the years lying around somewhere) or the option of swiping £15 on yer club loyalty card…took the latter option!! ;-)
haha MAYLANE…quirky bugger!! :-)
haha,…just did a search on MAYLANE…bugger :-)
At his peak, Maylane was barely short of top class. When he won the Group Three September Stakes at Epsom in 1997, he beat Dushyantor, who’d been second in the Coronation Cup over the same course and distance three months before. His win was all the more creditable for a slow start, when he gave away five lengths – something that was already a habit. On a bad day, Maylane would swerve so sharply left as he came out of the stalls that Michael Roberts would be unseated, a trick he pulled off twice that year. From 18 starts after his Epsom success, Maylane won two more races, largely thanks to a series of absurdly slow starts. Still, at least he would leave the stalls eventually. Tried in two hurdles races in 2002, he refused to budge when the tape rose
