Faugheen, won.t win, it has beaten nothing yet, just run of the mill handicappers, it is The New One for me, who got hampered last year.
None of these Horses have won yet, so can,t see the point in it.
I noticed from last year, the Hearts fan, Rajaeca picked a nice winner out last year at Cheltenham last year, can not remember the name of the horse, but I will be following him.

    Oh really ARSIE!
Everyone is entitled to an opinion on here.
    That is my own view.
As long as people are not rude on here, everyone is entitled to an opinion.
If you want to back Faugheen, at what is it now 5-4, go ahead mate.
My own view is it is a pacemaker for Hurricane Fly, who will take it up 2 furlong,s out, it will be passed by Jetski, and after the last fence, their will be smooth headway by the New one who will win going away by 4 lengths.
    That is my opinion.
    Good luck everyone!

So Johnb, if you had to put all yur eggs in one basket what wud be yur NAP of the meeting? I know u have Silviniaco conti as yur e/w nap but the price is 3/1 now so e/w is pointless.. wud appreciate your nap as of now for a straight strong win big stakes? Cheers

Stephen head. Your racing knowledge is minute compared to johnb, your reasoning of faugheen not winning is laughable. Viva Johnb! I’ll be backing faugheen all day.

Stepehen a pacemaker for hurricaine fly ha ha craziest thing i have heard. You know nothing about racing. Do you remember at punchestown faugheen being patted my ruby walsh 15 lengths clear didnt even touch it. Its a machine thats been held back ready to explode on tuesday

  11. Avatar of tbone
    tbone 10 years ago

If faugheen doesnt win i would love to see the fly win. Arctic fire will run a big race as has only been a couple of lengths behind last 2 races closing in at the finish and the hill maybe will bring more improvement but its faugheen all the way. You have to listen when ruby walsh speaks about a horse the way he does a out the current star crop. He doesnt say this for no reason. Fair enough annie power last year got beat but she wasnt a banker like i feel these 4 are in my opinion.

On that note the way he and mullins are talking about douvan i have never heard him so excited about a horse. Anything can happen in racing but i just cant go against the mullins quadpot on the first day

Cant wait for tuesday. Best day of the festival for me2

    • Avatar of Pearsy
      Pearsy 10 years ago

AGREED I THINK ITS MORE A QUESTION OF IF RUBY NEEDS HIS WHIP FOR ANY OF THE 4 MENTIONED. I CAN SEE UN DE SEAUX WINNING BY 10 LENGTHS PLUS AND MAYBE THE SAME FOR ANNIE POWER.

My main pick at Chelenham is Beltor in the Trumiph hurdle, it’s the way it travelled in its last win, if he settles better, then he will b even better, around 7/1
Go and view his last run and you will be impressed

I think there’s gunna be a bit of a shock in the gold cup this year..it looks wide open to me..I done last years winner Lord windemere £10ew at 16/1 6wks ago he’s gunna run a cracker..but I can’t help thinking smad place is gunna come close..so done a £5ew on him too at 16/1.I don’t think silviano will even get placed. All the stuffing will be out of him at the last I personally think. What’s everyones opinions on gold cup??

Word of caution for a few on some of these short priced faves like Peace and Co, Douvan and Kings Palace. The type of race that they are going to get at Cheltenham is so different to what they are used to. I can’t have them at the prices.

Can’t touch Un De Seaux either at odds on. Ruby hasnt won a Chase at the Festival since Kauto in 2008! Couple with the record of front runners in Arkle, no danger.
Vibrato Valtat is similar odds just to place as Un De Seaux to win.

    • Avatar of pearsy
      pearsy 10 years ago

see your point steven but if you back un de seaux with boylesports and it doesnt win you get your money back cant lose.

Here is a stat worth remembering for Cheltenham.
Ruby Walsh is ZERO out of 39 rides over the fences at Cheltenham.
Mind you as stated above I know nothing about horse racing.

  26. Avatar of tbone
    tbone 10 years ago

Steven you just look at everything from a betting point of view. Horse racing is a sport a sport that people.also love ratger than just looking for winnings so yes it may make more sense for a place bet but un de sceux is a machine and a horse everyone cant wait to see run. So try to see things from all angles other than how much money you can make

I hope not as i got 2/1 for her and un de scuex. Un de scuex is going to be the highest rated jumps horse of modern times in the next 2 years i have no doubt. Look what he did to clarcam giving him a lot of weight and beating him stupid without coming out 2nd gear

  30. Avatar of Duncan Poundcake
    Duncan Poundcake 10 years ago

Un De Seaux ,all the danger will be in front of him ,if he doesn’t overjump he wins ,simple. Annie Power wins the mares easily
but not the World Hurdle.Faugheen and Peace and Co are too short now ,the bookies will try to get them GL.

I do like Irish races, the way the jockey,s ride them out all the way to the line, I must say after work the other Sunday, I was impressed with Carlingford Lough, but I am also impressed with Honeywell, the way it progresses in the spring, and it loves Cheltenham, but are they both good enough to win the Gold Cup, that is the question.
Would love to hear peoples thoughts. views and stats on this race.
What is the ground, is it good, good to soft, anyone know?
    Thanks!

My E/W banker for Cheltenham, Rock on Ruby in the World Hurdle, absolutely loves it round there.

What you reckon of The Young Master John B? Appreciate any feedback

  33. Avatar of Duncan Poundcake

Stephen ,ground drying up quickly ,they may have to water I would expect it will be good or good to soft.

Also worth mentioning, with stats, in most races if their is a PU next to trainer Twisting Davies,s horses, sorry, it is getting late now, so slight spelling mistake, I meant Twiston Davies,s horses, especially at Cheltenham, if it has a PU next to it, obviously people who KNOW ABOUT HORSE RACING, back it.
    Very good stats, back it!

I know it is the wrong thread but in football, Preston to win at MK Dons tomorrow. Ali is out for the Don,s, and a few injuries and suspensions also. At nearly 2-1 Preston are an outstanding price.
That will be it from me. got to take the dog a walk on park.

Only the second ever post from me on the racing pages. I just wanted any opinions on my Cheltenham Yes/No coupon. My buddy in the local Hills roped me into parting with a quid on their shop promo coupons. I only do football but to help him shift a coupon I put a bet on it.

I said No to all six questions, or in other words I AGREED that the following would happen during the festival:

    1) 11 or less Irish trained wins
    2) McCoy rides 1 or less winner
    3) Biggest winning distance under 18L
    4) Biggest winning SP under 33/1
    5) W Mullins 4 or less winners
    6) 7 or less winning favourites

It’s 33/1 if they all happen and it’s blind betting on this occasion for me.

It’s only a fun pound bet but I’ll sure laugh if it comes up (yeah, right!)

  38. Avatar of Duncan Poundcake
    Duncan Poundcake 10 years ago

Stagger I think McCoy might have more than 1 winner but worth a quid for fun GL.
