Saturday marks another cracking day of racing and I've decided to go for a NAP single on Benson in the 3:35 at Sandown 7/2.
This looks a cracking race and for me Benson looks decent value at 7/2.
Benson comes into this race seeking to back up last year's success. He was massively progressive last season when stringing together a hat-trick of wins. He returned to racing last month when finishing 5th over 2m 5f. That trip of course stretched him a bit too far but it was still a decent run nonetheless.
The most eye-catching piece of form in my opinion was actually his previous run to that which was last Christmas where he finished 4th in an extremely competitive handicap hurdle at Ascot.
The form of that particular race has turned out well with the winner that day, Not So Sleepy, going on to finish 5th in the Champion Hurdle and then went on to finish in a dead heat with Epatante. The runner-up of that race Buzz has also went on to be very progressive over hurdles when winning recently at Newmarket.
I would also like to note Belfast Banter who ran in that race last Christmas. He finished 5th behind Benson and went on to win the County Hurdle at Cheltenham and a grade one.
Benson drops back to his favoured trip on Saturday, and I think he’ll come on again from last month's run.
Good luck!

not a tip, purely backing based on having a 66/1 2nd from the same owner/trainer/jockey. that was with a vastly more experienced horse, but if you adjust stakes to one you don’t mind losing we can’t go far wrong.
