SAPHIR Du Rheu was a beaten odds-on shot at Newbury on his first run for Nicholls and although he thrashed God Of The Kop at the Somerset track next time, that horse hardly advertised the form when finishing stone last in a Class 3 handicap at Kempton recently, albeit on very different ground. Ptit Zig is joined favourite here, he has only been given the one run by Nicholls, winning a low-key, all-aged novice hurdle at Ludlow. The form has subsequently taken a knock as the second-placed New Year's Eve disappointed badly at Doncaster. Bordoni is evidently a horse that possesses plenty of ability, jumping well and travelling with real enthusiasm when scoring by a wide margin at Market Rasen Totalize has taken well to hurdling, his latest success at Kelso was particularly impressive, overcoming a positional bias to win with more in hand than the winning margin would suggest.
Zamdy Man was precocious enough to win a 3yo maiden at Newmarket last summer, having finished a promising third in a similar event at Sandown on his debut.
Milord, a useful Flat performer in Germany, has shown steady improvement over hurdles, progressing with each run. His latest effort at Newbury was particularly promising, finishing so close to Chatterbox and Lac Fontana.
Other horses that may perform well might be Fatcatinthehat, Another Sensation and Calculated Risk.
