3.05 Queen Mother Champion Chase Tips
Wednesday 17 March | Age: 5yo+ | Prize: £400,000
The Queen Mother Champion Chase is the feature race on Day Two of the Cheltenham Festival, and is a Grade 1 chase run officially over almost two miles (1 mile, 7 furlongs and 199 yards).
Voice of Value's Tips
Sadly my early tip for the race Altior has been declared a non-runner today due to a bad scope after a bit of coughing but at least we will all get our money back on that bet because it was non runner no bet.
Chacun Pour Soi is now a shade of odds on and I have to say I don't think that's a bad price. He looks the class act in the field and is by far the most likely winner.
He is in my multiple bets and if 10-11 shots are your thing then this is one of the better ones you will find.
Personally I think there is one at a bigger price that can offer some each way value and perhaps even nick the race from the front.
FIRST FLOW won the Clarence House chase very well indeed on his last start and announced himself on the Grade 1 stage in some style. He has now won 6 on the bounce and if he was trained in Ireland by Mullins or Elliot he would be a much shorter price for this I think.
Kim Bailey is an absolute master though so there are no issues there. One of the criticisms I see for First Flow is that he wants to go right handed (like it is at Ascot) or that he needs soft ground but I don't think either criticism is fair.
If anything he hangs a little to his left and has jumped left at a few fences and the ground isn't going to be rattling fast on Wednesday.
He might also improve for good ground because he hasn't really run on it before.
Personally I would make him an 8 or 9 to 1 shot for the race now that Altior is out, maybe shorter and he looks a cracking each way bet to me at 14-1. That's a very big price especially considering he is almost double the price of Politologue who he swept aside last time.
Of the others I wouldn't put you off Sceau Royal who has been in better form this year and looked good last time out at Newbury. He's probably quite big at 18-1 too.
I think it's going to be a cracking race.

Alan Thomson's Tips
POLITOLOGUE, last year’s winner and runner-up in 2019, can put his proven course form to good use against hot-pot Chacun Pour Soi.
The popular grey landed the Tingle Creek at Sandown on his reappearance before posting a rare below-par effort at Ascot. He seems to come alive at Cheltenham and represents terrific each-way value.
This championship race has eluded Willie Mullins but Chacun Pour Soi has won six of his seven starts for the stable, the sole defeat coming at the hands of Gold Cup contender A Plus Tard at Leopardstown last season. He could be the real deal.
Nube Negra was pitched into the deep end in the Desert Orchid Chase at Kempton over Christmas but ran out a comfortable winner in receipt of 6lb from Altior. Dan Skelton has since wrapped him in cotton wool and the stable continues in rampant form.
Course and distance winner Put The Kettle On has a bit to find with the favourite on Irish form but is no forlorn hope.
