Voice of Value's Tips

It looks like being a fantastic Triumph Hurdle this year and the bookies think it's between the top two in the market, Tritonic and ZANAHIYR.

I can't have Tritonic and his form has been bashed a bit this week with the two horses he beat being turned over at short odds.

Although there are plenty of others in with a shout including Quilixios (unbeaten in 4 runs) and Adagio I am siding with Zanahiyr.

His form in Ireland has been excellent and it's the way that he travels that appeals to me the most. He is a big horse with lots of scope who will be able to maintain the high pace through the race and see off the rest.

Although Tritonic looked fantastic last time out he looks like more of a speedy flat horse who might not stay on up the hill as well as Zanahiyr.  I actually think it will be Quilixios who will fill the runner up berth.

Alan Thomson's Tips

With only eight runners going to post, there is no doubt the race has lost some of its historic big-betting appeal. Nonetheless, it is a tricky little GB v Ireland puzzle to solve.

Hot favourite ZANAHIYR, unbeaten in three starts for Gordon Elliott, trounced Saint Sam by 15 lengths at Fairyhouse at the end of November before following up at Leopardstown on Boxing Day.

Saint Sam gave the form a solid look by finishing second in Tuesday’s Boodles Juvenile Handicap Hurdle. Quilixios had more than five lengths to spare over Saint Sam at Leopardstown in February and also defends an unbeaten tag.

Tritonic flies the flag for Team UK and drying ground should enable Alan King’s dual winner to utilise his proven Flat speed. Tritonic was particularly impressive when thumping Casa Loupi in the Adonis Juvenile Hurdle at Kempton 20 days ago.

David Pipe believes Adagio ticks all the relevant boxes. A winner of three of his four outings to date, most notably the Finale Juvenile Hurdle at Chepstow, Adagio can go well at an each-way price.
