RACE two of Day two is the RSA Chase, run over 3 miles, which is far from easy for first-year Novice chasers but one stands out a mile.
RSA Chase
Coney Island – 7-1 10bet
Also entered in the JLT and is interesting, beat half a length last time out some people said he didn’t stay but I thought it was a good run with some decent horses in behind. I think he will come on for that run and is a horse with a chance as better ground looks to be the key.
Bellshill – Willie Mullins 9-1 10bet
I think this horse has a decent chance, was 2 from 2 since going chasing until falling on Sunday in the race won by Disko but we didn’t see the real Bellshill in that race and I would easily give him another chance.
Disko – Noel Meade 11-1 10bet
Already mentioned this horse earlier and as I said I think the JLT will be his target and I couldn’t fancy him in this anyway.
Might Bite – Nicky Henderson 11-4 10bet
Two wins, a second and a fall when really would have won from 4 chase runs. He is a worthy favourite but at 3-1 is far too short, his best run was actually when falling in the Kauto Star Novices Chase as he was going to win by a distance.
Alpha Des Obeaux – Mouse Morris 15-2 10bet
Hasn’t been seen since pulling up in December in a race won by Our Duke, Coney Island 2nd and Disko 3rd. I know connections were really disappointed with that run but it was revealed he broke a blood vessel. He finished second to Thistlecrack at Cheltenham last year
This is a difficult race but three horses really stand out and they are, in order of my preference:
