RACE Two on day three is the Pertemps Final, it’s run over three miles and horses have eight qualifying races to qualify for this final race. Only four of the last ten winners had won their previous race.
Pertemps Final
Tobefair – 11-2 10bet
Antepost favourite who is unbeaten in nearly two years with seven straight wins but has never run at Cheltenham. He won his qualifier at Warwick and it’s interesting that all his wins have come on left-handed tracks.
For Good Measure – Philip Hobbs 14-1 10bet
Two good seconds at Cheltenham recently and although hasn’t won since December 2015 he does have a chance and in my opinion is a better proposition than stablemate Golden Doyen.
Presenting Percy – Patrick Kelly 6-1 10bet
Reinforced his chances lately with a win in February at Fairyhouse and his two races before that when finishing fourth and fifth he was a bit unlucky, Odds are a bit skinny but does have a chance.
Dadsintrouble – Tim Vaughan 10-1 10bet
Two from two this year and winning his qualifier at Haydock last time out. Has been impressive on both runs and has come back from some training problems but has always had ability.
Golden Doyen – Philip Hobbs 16-1 10bet
Not the best of jumpers but won his qualifier at Cheltenham in October when beating For Good Measure by a short head and now has a 2/3 record at Cheltenham. But in a rematch I would have to fancy For Good Measure to reverse the placings.
Solomn Grundy – Neil Mulholland 16-1 10bet
Last four races has seen two wins and two seconds with the best of them a win over Shantou Bob.
