Brighton is my main hunting ground tomorrow for Monday's racing. I’ve decided to throw up 2 selections.
Well done to Rizz, some beautiful winners over the last few days! Summerland in particular the pick of the bunch! That horse absolutely loves large fields!
Onto the selections,
Porfin 5/2 – 1:00 Brighton
A class 5 and a small 6 runner field starts off the card at Brighton. Most of this field have a lot to prove and don’t really come into this race in any sort of form with the exception of Porfin and arguably Street Parade.
Porfin is a horse clearly thriving at the moment and sometimes using that as a benchmark is a tip in itself.
Porfin has had a pretty busy August, and I’m hoping the busy schedule doesn’t catch up on my selection and take its toll. Nonetheless, Porfin won pretty impressively last time out at Lingfield in a class 6 apprentice handicap and must be respected under a penalty given the fashion of her recent success.
Grace McEntee is the normal jockey who rides Porfin but Molly Presland ran her to victory last time out at Lingfield and gets a leg up again at Brighton.
Molly Presland claims 8lb which will help to ease the penalty given to Porfin for his recent success.
Main danger from what I can see looks to be the Attwater trained street parade who went down by a nose in a class 4 handicap at the start of August and if turning up in similar form tomorrow could be hard to beat.
Lady Amanda ( TO PLACE ) 11/10 – 1:35 Brighton
Rizz’s sole selection for tomorrow is Red Treasure to win and to be honest he’s pretty much bang on the money with everything he’s said about that one, so I’ll not bore you all with repeating it.
Given Red Treasure looking the likely winner from a pretty poor bunch, I’ve opted to use the place market and take a small punt on the Hannon Runner to chase Red Treasure home and nab a spot.
Only 2 places up for grabs as it’s only a 6 runner field which is disappointing but the rest of the bunch need to take a significant step forward in this to get involved.
Lady Amanda by Camacho out of a 6f winner has everything pedigree wise to possibly be a decent sort and Sean Levey is a good jockey booking for the ride.
Sean has had a good few days with a win at York on Shouldvebeenaring and a win at Deauville yesterday on Aristia for Richard Hannon who got the better of Rosscarbery and the eagerly awaited return of Verry Elleegant who was massively disappointing under Frankie Dettori.
