ROYAL ASCOT is front and centre in everyone’s mind at the moment and I’ll have selections for each day of the meeting starting on Tuesday.
First though we have some decent stuff from York and Sandown today live on ITV Racing and I have two tips both of which run at York, one of my favourite courses in the UK.
3.00pm York
The race looks to me to be between Mekong and AUSTRIAN SCHOOL at that the prices it seems obvious that the latter is the value bet. There is very little between the two and although the ground may be slightly in favour of Mekong the track is likely to suit Austrian School who is a tough galloping horse and I think he has been undervalued in the market.
3.35pm York
This one is a really competitive sprint handicap but SECRET VENTURE looks like he has a decent chance to me. He is fairly unexposed and is likely to have been aimed at this race for a while by connections who enjoy having runners at York. The ground and trip should be to his liking and I think he rates a good each way prospect. Betfair and Paddy Power are paying 6 places each way so take advantage of that if you can.
