2.20 Wolverhampton

THIS is the first face I have focused on Monday and the market suggests it is all about 6/4 favourite Moss Hill.

Moss Hill managed a second place under a fortnight ago at track and over the distance of 7 furlongs, was only half a length though in front of unlimited who he meets again today.

Unlimited today with Tom Queally on board can turn that around, and is better off today then rival Moss Hill. Silly Billy could be worth a place gamble at 6/1.

Recommended Bet

Unlimited @ 11/2 Bet365

2.40 KELSO

The return on the track today of AGAINST THE WIND after over 2 years off. A bit of a gamble taking this one today maybe but trainer Lucinda Russell must be pleased with the horse to enter into a class 4 2 mile 1 furlong race.

Finds itself off a mark of 98 today, when top of his game over 2 years ago was only as high as 102, but this horse is unexposed and should run a big race at a nice price.

Recommended Bet:

Against The Wind @ 6/1 BetVictor

4.10 Kelso

Sleep In First is in fine form, and going for a five-timer. A 7lb penalty today shouldn't it going on to victory.

I make this my nap, for looking at the field lined up against this one, there is nothing in there in any form at all, although it doesn't mean they won't run into form.

Recommended Bet:

Sleep In First @ 6/5 bet365 (nap)

4.30 Towcester

Henok and Orang Outan to me look to have been hit by the handicapper for this race, Henok raised 8lb while Orang Outan raised 7lb. So now Oranger comes into it, got some nice form behind it, and off a nice mark today.

Oranger won last time out over 2m 4f and the 2m won't be a problem at all, the form looks really good, the negatives for Henok and Orang Outan lead me to Oranger and hopeful it will run a big race.

Recommended Bet:

Oranger @ 6/1 bet365

5.10 Kelso

A horse in terrific form, Buckstruther is the one they are all out to beat over 3 miles 2 furlongs. Sacred Mountain can challenge and has every chance on official rating and market support. The last race it was 200/1 but was a class 2 at Cheltenham.

Back in a class 5 it has a chance but I would like to believe Buckstruther will be too strong for this field.

Recommended Bet:

Buckstruther @ 3/1 Paddy Power

DAILY DOUBLE

4.10 Kelso
SLEEP IN FIRST 6/5

7.10 Windsor
HANSEATIC 6/5

Do you use a dutching calculator ?

  3. Avatar of Milesey
    Milesey 12 years ago

I have software that does it all for me, so no need for calculators, but i can roughly work it out in my head anyway to an easy stake such as a hundred a race. Relevant software, good internet connection and means of backing up if your connection goes or the betfair site crashes is what you need when trading. Easier to do at work, then at home, for i have more means at work to see exactly where the money is going.

Today based on stats etc….. if set up 15 0-0 LAYS on games in several Norway Leagues, odds raging from 7.6 – 10.4…… and it hit every single one of them, spreading the money from my account across games to cover the liability. Hard to keep up if your doing this manually, so to get a decent profit and have upto 100 markets going at the sametime you need decent software and super fast internet connection.

For what i use i pay around £200 a year, i know alot of people who use http://www.betangel.com/ not sure on the price, but if trading on betfair they are a necessity. They don’t break the rules, like betfair bots do, and to be honest a big deal isn’t made out of people using bots anyway, i know of 1 in all my time with betfair who had their account closed. To be honest they don’t care, they get their commission, you are betting against others not betfair, they get their cut whatever.

Aye regarding that Betfair has been the best addition to gambling since i can remember along with scrapping the betting tax as well, at least we have Gordon Brown to thank for that one lol

I used to try doing the dutching a while back but hated the way it always seemed to go to partially placed bets and more often than not it seemed the prices never came back to the original ones,i used to just wait 5 or so mins if they went back up but never seemed to, maybe just a patience thing.

Dont know if 10 mb which i have (but Vermin doubled it so i believe to 20mb) is classed as super fast internet connection.

Course Vermin say they do 100 mb so thats maybe answered that lol

    http://www.betangel.com/trial/

there is a 14 day free trial, if you have a betfair / betdaq account, well worth taking the trial and seeing how you get on with it, makesure you have some money in your account to play with though so you can get the best out of your trial by actually using money. 14 days should be enough time to get used to the features it offers and see if it’s any good for you !

  8. Avatar of 1plus2

Yeah i was just about to post that 14 day trial from bet angel and also thinking about how much money would be feasible for to try for 2 weeks but sadly my knowledge in the ins and outs of laying/trading is pretty thin plus as usual the money side of it is pretty thin as well lol

But great 2 week trial if u know something about what it does or claims to do

Another thing my golf betting this week…… Boo Weekley has just finished in 6th place. But after round 2 i LAYED him @ 6.0, after backing him @ 90.0 pre tournament.

So Backing Boo Weekley @ 90.0
    for £100

    then LAYING him @ 6.0

made me a tidy profit off £1400.00.

Just watched a video of that bet angel with the in player trading and it certainly looks a excellent bit of kit, but unfortunately can i say the same with my understanding of it but i would deffo try 2 or 3 mths of it just to see how it went if i get some decent dosh to try without worrying about a set amount if it goes mammary glands up as most of my betting does as per usual.

  11. Avatar of Milesey
    Milesey 12 years ago

Think they have youtube tutorial videos that may be worth a look over, get some kind if understanding before you pay for a couple of months, so you can get stuck into it, but i think it has training involved on it, and simulations without getting involved in markets with your own money…. but in theory it should minimise your loss if your in trouble, and should be able to scalp alot quicker then manually doing it, for you should hit a horse racing market about 5 minutes before off time, when the money is at it’s highest, and should be able to back and lay in the matter of minutes and make a profit, as software can see the trends better then sitting and watching in that time space, it will have seen the trends of the market and can hit 20 runners in a 20 runner race and make profit on all of them, knowing whether that price is going to drift it will lay then back, or the price comes in it will back then lay.

    Milesey

    • Avatar of 1plus2
      1plus2 12 years ago

Yeah they have a practice mode which would be handy as a separate bit of kit to get you used to what to do then you could buy with a bit more confidence,i wonder why they do not offer that as a stand alone item or is it because it may be to difficult for the majority and they would lose out on at least a month or two subscriptions ?. If people tried and thought naw no for me they aint going to get no money regardless maybe thats why they dun offer it then.

    • Avatar of Milesey
      Milesey 12 years ago

When i’m at work and have to manually do it, i will only take on about 5 races a day, and i’m having to look for big margins, looking at where the money is coming, and looking to back at around 16.0 and for it to come in to a nice 8.0, where as software doesn’t do that, it can do every runner in the race and take smaller margins but still big profit, it will back at 4.6 and lay at 4.0, or vice versa, but will get this kind of margin from every runner in that race.

Sadly i only had £63 in my betfair account so i did them to a £20 stake so baby steps as they say.

Plenty of videos, so may be worth a view of some, decide what you want out of it, and how you yourself want to use it, get some understanding of ” scalping ” ” greening up ” back high lay low ” lay low back high ” doesn’t ever matter what way you do it, understand the market yourself and develope the knowledge of what it does, and is it doing what your expecting it to, you don’t freeze and let it run, if you back and the price goes the other way, put your lay in and cut your losses, don’t just leave it and let it run, you can minimise what you lose. You don’t care what happens in the event, your playing the markets like the stock exchange. Have a strategy, easiest is to play the draws in football matches, but again do your homework, a team who are banging the goals in, against a team who are leaky, Lay the draw at say 5.6, a couple of goals go in and you can back it at 60.0 making an instant profit, use an online calculator if your not sure about stakes to use for that profit.

I used to try and use it a few years back but like everything else you have to put the work in to get anywhere and sadly i was a slacker at this just because of not wanting to put the work in.

I have downloaded a free dutching software offered from bet angel for use on the betdaq site and after a few looks it looks quite interesting the way the guy explains it and seems pretty easy but we will wait and see if i can properly suss it out

B T W many thanks for all this input your putting in for me much appreciated, and it has got my appetite in trying to actually win again instead of just the buzz i used to get and still do to a certain extent with the actual gamble.

I remember joining a tipping service called isiris and i joined which turned out to be quit profitable but i fell into the trap of betting more of my own stuff instead of just following this guy and of course lost a fortune and more, all down to the buzz instead of the actual point of gambling to try and make money or minimize losses at the very least.

The plot thickens after looking at a few videos and the guys excellent tutelage it certainly looks very interesting and a quick look at the correct scores tutorial and the muddy water is clearing by the second.

Excellent software and if i can be patient and put more thought into it and most of all be more disciplined (that’s the biggie for me)then i will certainly look forward to the art of gambling again.

PS Guys have a look at this it is rather interesting and it has given me a new slant on the way i used to bet and that’s after watching only 2 of the videos lol

PPS of course you still have to actually pick the correct result but this software certainly puts a different slant on the possibilities of winning or minimising losses

    Hi miseley,

I hav read ur your comment on lay and back but how u made 1400 on ur Golf bet that I don’t understand .

I know I am a bit baby in betting field that’s why I am askin question which you and most of people will think is stupid?

U still dont understand how to lay and than back and if u back and same person or horse how u make profit.?

I hope if u can help me out and make me understand and explain it to me.

Can you email me if u dont mind?
    It’s ( [email protected])

Hey I only have 40 pound to spend today can you tell me which race and how I spend on each horse like 20 pound per race?

  22. Avatar of Milesey
    Milesey 12 years ago

Your not betting on the outcome of the race, your looking for Market trends……. so i’ll explain the golf bet to you, you back a player to win @ 90.0, you still have to look through form, players who do well at the course, previous winners, conditions and who plays well in them conditions, so still homework to be done, before you look at the market.

    In this instance :

    Boo Weekley 90.0

backed him at 90.0 for £100 to win, he played 2 great rounds and ended up just one shot behind the leader after round 2. Therefore at this stage the market of cause is always changing, so now he is at 6.0 to win the tournament, you can now start trading to make some profit, so now you put your LAY in at 6.0 to make your profit, the outcome doesn’t matter at all………. all you need is the market to do what you expect it to.

I think maybe in the question is how much was staked on the lay @6 to get the £1400 profit.

After reading that i had a wee shot of bet angel and trying to suss out maybe what would be stake to get that and lo and behold i learned a new thing and that was it has the option to limit your liability stake every day a skool day ;-)

Since downloading it i have been fairly surprised by the actual amount of stuff that could be possible with such tools at your disposal and i can certainly recommend giving it a try to see for yourselves.

But be warned it’s no magic wand to make money but it certainly is a rabbit out the hat and doves out a hanky ;-) puts a different perspective on the gambling now.

Did you say you also got the free version for BETDAQ ?

Is that fully functional, or is there limits to what you can do with it, i see they are offering for free, but they charge for the betfair version.

I have a betdaq account, the software i use also covers it aswell, i can’t say i’ve ever had to use it though for it’s there purely as backup should betfair be down, maintenance etc….. and i could have a back inplay and need to get out.

Yeah the free version has limitations so it’s best avoided because you get very little in the free betdaq version.

The bet angel pro 2 week trial gives you the full monty and has everything u would ever need to get up and started,Well that and some cash to play around with but always remember do not bet with money you cannot afford to lose is always sound advice.

It is well worth £150 for a year, it gives you an edge using this kind of software, it can see things you can’t, can play lots of markets at the sametime, does the right amounts you need to back and lay to make a profit, the soccer software is always good to give you an insight of how the market will change if a goal goes in etc….. so inplay you know when the best time is to lay / back etc….. it’s all worth learning, for having that edge is great, but sometimes it doesn’t go as planned but you can minimise your losses, a £25 loss instead of a £250.

13:50 – It is quite possible that Striker Torres, who is well treated on the pick of his form from last year, could bounce back having had a break but we are most interested in both Romanticize and Abhaath. The first mentioned hasn’t been dealt with too harshly by the handicapper for her win over C&D last time, so she should go close once more, whilst Abhaath, who doesn’t have the greatest strike-rate, has been running respectably of late and seems sure to do so again.

14:20 – With three places on offer it is almost impossible to oppose the lightly-raced and progressive Moss Hill, who was narrowly denied by Romanticize on his most recent outing. The suspicion is that he has yet more to offer and his mostly exposed rivals face a difficult task in attempting to beat him.

14:50 – Tango Sky will probably return to some sort of form now dropped into this grade but the most solid option is Dark Lane, trained by David Evans, who has already enjoyed a profitable 2012, is a dependable sort and sets a decent standard here.

15:20 – Tidy Affair completed the hat-trick with something to spare last time but a lack of pace could just hinder him here, so we are going to take him on with Keep Kicking and Bold Duke. The first mentioned was unsuited by the drop to 10 furlongs last time but that run did qualify him for a mark and he is back up to a mile and a half here whilst Bold Duke, who stepped up on his reappearance when fourth at Windsor earlier this month, cannot be ruled out as he is still lightly-raced for one his age.

15:50 – A non-runner has made this tricky claimer just that bit more difficult, but we are still going to bank on Hurricane Spirit as he begins life for a new yard. The nine-year-old wasn’t at his very best last time but he is the pick at the weights and could find things panning out in his favour, which is in contrast to his main rival Officer In Command who won’t get the decent gallop he seemingly requires.

16:20 – Call Ahead very nearly went in as a banker in this leg, as she shaped with plenty of promise on debut at Newmarket 11 days ago, but we haven’t used up too many lines in the previous legs so we shall also stick in Cavalieri, who kept on well once the penny had dropped at Kempton last month and is entitled to progress.

      Selections:
      13:50 – 4, 6
      14:20 – 8
      14:50 – 3
      15:20 – 2, 5
      15:50 – 7
      16:20 – 3, 7
      = 8 lines

Just had a look at this http://www.geekstoy.com/ someone i know has it set up on their own laptop at their work station, and to be honest it’s quite a powerful tool to be honest, it works quite quicky, and is giving a good reading of the market.

Well it’s been interesting to say the least with this bet angel adds a definite enjoyment I had forgotten about.

At one stage I had over £50 profit using pretty small stakes but ended up with a small £25 profit and a few correct scores covered on the Villa game 2 note.

So far so good really enjoyed today

What i have read you can do the 14 day trial for free, and you get the complete bet angel for this period to play around with etc….. and decide really if it’s for you. As for your LAY on the 3.5 goals market, that is a hard one to be starting out on, keep it simple. Start with simple trades that are easy to do, Lay the draw then Back it in when a goal goes in at the higher price.

1plus2, you dont need the betfair software just use ur common sense and bet the first four nags and make sure u come out with a profit on your 4 bets its simples!!! ;)

Remember to take my advice on what dutch bets to do mind…

Well JIMBOS you must be good, if you can keep upto date with all the market trends going on, know how much to stake over the runners to make a profit, to know where the increase in the markets are, and to be able to play over 100 markets at the sametime ;) ;) and i thought you lost money ? you must be minted if you can do all that without software ;)

Your coming out with some absolute rubbish, for i start i didn’t put up any dutching tips at all yesterday, and your coming out with figures that are well off, including the winner of the race, who won at a betfair sp of 60.0.

Betfair figures not total market milesey, read what i posted pal

    • Avatar of Milesey
      Milesey 12 years ago

YOU are no where near with them figures, you have got them from the top of your head, the betfair sp for the winner was 60.0 for a starters, and you’ve taken a figure of matched bets on one horse, and the other figure you have possibly got from adding together the money in the market for that race……. what is way off a true actual figure.

    Thanks milesey,

Say for example, I will lay draw villa vs Sunderland match,
If Aston villa score the goal in 8 th minute than back the team to win or still back the goal? Or back the draw?

Lay draw means we are saying it is not going to be draw in the match right? But as soon as some team score you back the draw? Is it right?

    • Avatar of Milesey
      Milesey 12 years ago

Are you confident in this game that Sunderland or Villa be go 2 nil up ? what do the stats say about this game, should be goals, but will it finish 2-2, 3-3, if you have a favourite playing a team that you know let in alot of goals, you can feel confident enough to let it run after a goal goes in, in the hope it will go 2-0, yes you can make a profit in this case LAYING the draw @ 3.4 and then waiting for a goal and backing it at higher price, but won’t be a massive high price, depends when the goal goes in, and how long you are prepared to wait to back it at the higher price, of cause if it’s 2-0 at half time, then you will get 30.0 for the draw.

      Milesey

    • Avatar of Milesey
      Milesey 12 years ago

I’ll give you a few tips, you still need to work hard and have the knowledge to make a profit when laying the draw, you need to do your homework and select games you think based on stats will be profitable, you can’t do it on every game, if you LAY @ 3.4 and you hope to just get out as soon as the first goal goes in, that isn’t the way and you will be disappointed if you use the system this way….. When the goal goes in you are in a winning position, so why then get out as quick as you can ? that’s why you select games that you feel the other team will win by at least 2 goals, for you can let it run, and sit back and wait for the 2nd goal, that will then see a big change in the market 2-0 up is a bigger market changer then 1-0, at 1-0 you will hardly see any movement. So it’s not a case of getting out as soon as you can, it’s a case of sitting in and being confident.

Yeah that’s wat I did a few correct scores dutching them.

Not covered 1-1 or 2-2 which is highly possible but we’ll see how it goes.

Also betfair do min £2 bets better to try other sites if u want to play for longer guys ;) with smaller stakes …Betfair is geared for u to lose money quicker haha, isnt it milesey

    • Avatar of Milesey
      Milesey 12 years ago

Well that just sums you up really, this is my last comment to you, for you don’t have a clue, you can set a 10p minimum stake, all you have to do is put a bet on at £2, but put it too high to get matched, then put another bet in for 10p, get the 10p bet matched and cancel the £2 bet……….. bet angel does all that for you and is easier using software to do it then having to do it manually everytime……. so actually you are wrong.

      Milesey

      ( betfair )

  51. Avatar of Raves

Means if villa goes 2-0 up and than if I back the draw an if the match end up in goal still make profits coz i back draw in play but I lay draw before the start.

That means what ever the different between laying the draw and backing the draw will be ur profit.

But if no one score till 50 minutes than what should I do ?

That won’t be happen I know that.

  52. Avatar of Milesey
    Milesey 12 years ago

Most goals in games are scored in the second half… so 0-0 at 50 minutes i wouldn’t worry too much, and as i say if you have layed the draw and it’s 2-0 and you can’t see the other team getting back into the game why then back the draw, you may aswell let it run at that stage and take 100% profit instead of say 80% for getting out early…. so you are looking for games where one team will likely bang the goals in against the other, and your looking to lay the draw pre match, and looking to then sit in, or if only 1-0 with say 15 minutes to go, be good to get out or face being hit with a late goal against you.

    Thanks milesey,

I know I hve ask you so much question about it and yes I haven’t got clue, but I can learn mate.

Anyways I will try this one out and make sure I will understand.

What u do for horse racing ? Same thing or different rules as well.

U select horses or lay them just before the start and than back them , I guess I have seen the video.

    • Avatar of Milesey
      Milesey 12 years ago

Get an understanding before you put your money into the market, watch a game live on tv, or inplay, and watch the market, write down what your doing…. i.e Laying the draw, watch the market throughout the game, see what happens when a goal goes in, it will suspend maybe for 20 seconds, then see the change when it comes back live, how much of a change has the goal caused to happen, look for trends etc….. and how you would play it.

There are books out there that help you out, BETFAIR FOR DUMMIES isn’t one i would reccommend, but if you can get yourself ” FALSE FAVOURITES by JONATHAN BURGESS, http://www.false-favourites.co.uk/Reviews.html , MASTERING BETFAIR is one of the better books http://www.amazon.co.uk/Mastering-Betfair-Pete-Nordsted/dp/1906659028/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1367262094&sr=8-1&keywords=BETFAIR.

Bet Angel http://www.betangel.com/ is a must have and watch the youtube videoshttp://www.youtube.com/user/betangeltv to help you out to get even more of an understanding, everyone has to learn somewhere, and if this is something your interested in, then i wish you all the best.

Raves, if yer new to betting maybe you should stick to straight forward stuff to find yer feet. Backing/laying/dutching/greening etc dunt suit everyone and you do need to know yer stuff/do your homework and have a fair bitta time to do it really well hence Milesey’s day job helps him immensely in this regard.
