RESULTS were a bit Creepy on Tuesday with Milesey's Outsider of the Day rewarding each-way backers at prices of around 19.0.
Here are Milesey's tips for Wednesday and his featured race is the 3.30 at Newmarket.
NEWMARKET 3.30
Captain Ramius was better than ever in 2012, winning Ayr Gold Cup in September and 7f Doncaster minor event in October. Back to best when second to Jack Dexter in listed event at latter track last time.
Hawkeyethenoo is a strong traveller who can list wins in 2011 Victoria Cup and 2012 Stewards' Cup on CV. Career best when ¾-length second to Maarek in Ascot Group 2 final start last term and gone well fresh before.
Jimmy Styles is an admirable frontrunner who showed he's as good as ever with victory in Deauville Group 3 last August. Runner-up in this race last year and capable of another bold showing.
Move In Time ended 2011 campaign by landing 5f listed contest at Ascot for Bryan Smart. Back at that level when winning handicaps for new yard in recent weeks and expected to go close on hat-trick attempt.
Pandar was a smart performer in Italy last year, winning 3 times. Well held on debut for new yard in November, though, and will need to find some improvement to go close on return to action.
Swiss Cross ended drought in 6f Lingfield handicap in December but not at his best in recent months and faces a stiff task here. Engaged 4.20 Beverley Wednesday.
The Cheka won a Doncaster listed event on reappearance last term and went on to finish placed four times in pattern company, including second in July Cup. Goes well fresh and another who can't be ruled out.
Tiddliwinks is a smart performer who was better than ever in 2012, winning Duke of York Stakes and a Group 3 at the Curragh. Player if close to best, though he's needed his reappearance in last two campaigns.
Angels Will Fall won a 5f listed race at Ayr in June and ran close to best when third to Swiss Dream in C&D listed event on final start last term. Will need to improve to have big say in matters.
Hallelujah is a lightly-raced mare who won three of first four starts. Further progress when third in York Group 3 in July and probably best to forgive poor run in C&D listed event when last seen in October. Unexposed.
Tickled Pink was runner-up first three starts and made it fourth time lucky in 6f Yarmouth maiden last June. Needs to step up a lot to go close at this level but interesting connections think it's worth a try.
1. Move In Time
2. Captain Ramius
3. The Cheka
Verdict: A competitive renewal of this Group 3 prize. Move In Time has thrived for the switch to David O'Meara and can strike again while the iron's hot. Captain Ramius, The Cheka and Hawkeyethenoo are others who will go close if anywhere near their best.
NEWMARKET DOUBLE
4.05
TORNONADO (nap) 1/1 bet365
He has won three times from 6f to 7f on good and good to soft ground. A winner at 11-4 in the Group 2 Champagne Stakes at Doncaster over 7f (good) on his latest outing in September last year, beating Dundonnell by 1/2l.
5.45
HILLSTAR 13/8 bet365
Won on his latest outing when 2-1 fav at Leicester over 7f (soft) in October last year, beating Flashlight by 3/4l.
CHELTENHAM DOUBLE
2.35
VIOLIN DAVIS 7/2 bet365
Has won three hurdle races, a NH flat race and four chases from 1m 6f to 3m on ground varying from good to firm to heavy. Won on her latest outing in a chase when 10-3 fav at Taunton over 2m 7f (good to firm) earlier this month, beating Qianshan Leader by 3/4l. Has won three times this season.
3.45
DANIMIX 6/1 bet365
Winner of a hurdle race, a NH flat race and three chases from 2m to 3m 1f on ground varying from good to firm to good to soft. Won on his latest outing in a chase when 13-8 jt-fav at Wetherby over 3m 1f (good to soft) earlier this month, beating Real Milan by 3/4l. Has won three times this season.
OUTSIDER OF THE DAY
4.20
BIG EASY 14/1
Successful in two hurdle races at 2m 3f and 2m 4f on good and good to soft ground. Finished 10l behind Medinas when sixth of 28 at 25-1 on his latest outing in a Grade 3 hurdle race here over 2m 5f (good to soft) last month.
Milesey (Betfair)
if short prices are your bag, then on all known form Ghurair really should deliver in the 14:55.
He has about a stone in hand of these on official ratings and if seeing out this longer trip sufficiently – and there is a danger that the massive Tattersalls prize may have seen connections gamble by going down the 1m2f route, rather than a Guineas Trial like the Greenham – he should have too much class for these.
But some decent judges were talking Ghurair up as a potential 2,000 Guineas horse not long ago – and it is interesting to note that Ghurair doesn’t have a Derby entry.

Jimmy Styles in the 15.30 at Newmarket.
This gelding finished down the field behind Maarek at Ascot last October. He was never travelling with any fluency and finished well beaten. He has solid credentials coming in to this race, including an impressive victory at Deauville last August. I think he will run well at a big price.
At present he is trading at 10.5 on the exchange.

THREE MORE FOR TODAY
———————
The Abernant Stakes over six furlongs at 15:30 Newmarket. Many of the 11 runners are established Group-level sprinters, but most of those are returning from winter breaks. Considering sprinters tend to need race sharpness more than most, it could therefore be worthwhile sticking with in-form handicap graduate Move In Time. Tried occasionally in pattern events when with Bryan Smart, Move In Time spent the latter half of 2012 in handicaps, with a poor stretch seeing him drop to a BHA mark of 85. Since joining David O’Meara, however, he’s looked better than ever, winning both starts, the second in impressive fashion from a mark of 95. Now back in Group company and in the form of his life, Move In Time looks to have a fair opportunity to get his first win at this level.
Ripon (16:30). Like Move In Time, Sandy Lane is a recent recruit to the David O’Meara yard, though he was already progressing for Amy Weaver prior to taking a leap forward in form terms at Catterick last week. Running over seven furlongs, Sandy Lane dictated but was nonetheless impressive, firmly in control from soon after halfway on his way to recording a six-length success. Carrying just a 6-lb penalty eight days on and highly unlikely to be unsuited by the drop back to sprint trips, anything better than even-money about Sandy Lane for this race seems fair.
In the Earl of Sefton Stakes back at Newmarket. It’s a race made up chiefly of the usual suspects, which is why last year’s Dante winner Bonfire stands out so far. He admittedly failed to build on that in two subsequent starts, while the form of the race was hardly stellar, but Bonfire has always looked a 120-plus performer in the making and fresh may be the time to catch him. If he’s the horse he was (and, of course, fit enough to do himself justice), then Bonfire shouldn’t have much problem making a winning return.

RACE IN FOCUS – NEWBURY 3.05
—————————–
No Jet Lag won a maiden at Lingfield and 3-runner minor event at Redcar in July. Best effort when 1½ lengths second to Ashdan in minor event at Doncaster in September, and gelded after below form final start.
Ribaat cost 280,000 gns and off the mark on debut at Haydock (6f) in August. Needed a stronger gallop when third of 6 in minor event at Doncaster following month, and remains open to plenty of improvement.
Hasopop looked exposed after trying his hand in pattern company last year, but made a promising return when 2 lengths fifth to Teophilip in listed race at Lingfield last month, and has clearly trained on.
Baltic Knight won a maiden at Kempton and 5-runner minor event at Salisbury last year, when his best effort was a close second to Montiridge at Sandown. Needs to find some improvement to defy his opening mark.
Hay Dude was a maiden winner on debut last September (7f, heavy), and showed improved form on last month’s reappearance when length second of 6 to Prophets Pride in handicap at Kempton. Looks on a fair mark.
Mutazamen’s best effort in 4 starts last season came when winning 6f maiden at Newmarket, making all. Capable of better, but retained jockey chooses Ribaat.
So Beloved is a well-related colt who was impressive when beating Tawhid in the mud at Salisbury in October. Flopped next time after pulling hard, but appears to have been given a big chance by the handicapper.
Kalicamix bettered previous efforts when winning a pair of AW claimers at Deauville last August, and while well held there since, wasn’t disgraced in a listed race last month. Opposable on turf, however.
Beedee won a 6f maiden at Chepstow on debut and placed in a trio of nurseries in latter half of the year. Looks more exposed than most, though, and vulnerable to progressive sorts on return.
Tipping Over was a ready winner of a 6f maiden at Newmarket in June, and held her own in better company afterwards. Seemed to have reached her limit after 9 starts, though, and others preferred on reappearance.
Here Comes When is an expensive purchase who overcame greenness to win 7-runner maiden at Salisbury on debut, and better than result when fourth in minor event at Newmarket following month. Hooded now, and merits respect.
1. So Beloved
2. Ribaat
3. Here Comes When
VERDICT: So Beloved needs to settle much better than on his final start if he’s to defy his opening mark, but his previous win was replete with promise, and it’s worth taking that chance. Ribaat, Here Comes When and Hay Dude head the list of dangers.
