WIFF WAFF (7.15) has the appearance of a very solid favourite at Kempton this evening.
Stuart Williams has a vastly improved three-year-old on his hands and the manner in which Wiff Waff disposed of in-form Lord Of The Glen at Newcastle marked him down as a sprinter to follow.
He is best held up and should get a strong pace to track on this turning 5f circuit. Despite a 6lb penalty, Wiff Waff is a strong 6-4 shot.
On the all-weather at Lingfield, BAMAKO DU CHATELET (4.00) can continue his recent progression by mopping up the 1m 4f amateur riders' handicap.
His recent second to Willyegolassiego was boosted when the winner landed some nice bets at Wolverhampton on Monday and Bamako Du Chatelet's earlier victory over Alternate Route was also made to look better with that horse winning yesterday.
My one concern is the inexperience of 7lb claimer James Morley. The rookie rider has had five career mounts for Ian Williams, with no placings so far. Bamako Du Chatelet is a hold-up performer and at least there should be a sensible gallop, with front-running Bertie Moon going to post.
Attain won this event last year under today's jockey Simon Walker and clearly rates a threat in this grade off the same mark.
There is some tremendous jumps action in the next couple of days and PERFECT HARMONY (1.25) will appreciate a slight drop in class at Doncaster.
Alan King's gelding was no match for useful Count Meribel at Ascot in November but this Newbury bumper winner had some nice horses in arrears.

John, I read an article on Bristol de Mai, and if he doesn’t run well in the Cotswold it’s possible he won’t go the gold cup route, which would leave me crippled.
The gold cup is a really open race but unless the ground is heavy on the day, which I highly doubt, I really wouldn’t fancy Bristol De Mai. There are a fair few with a better chance in my opinon.
