TEASER (3.25) should benefit from a marked step up in trip by landing the 1m 4f Class 5 handicap at Wolverhampton.
After three encouraging runs at around a mile, Teaser has qualified for an official handicap rating (75) and James Fanshawe has wasted no time finding the gelding a stiffer test of stamina. Teaser’s third to William Haggas-trained hotpot Martineo and Grecian Spirit here at the end of March proved he can handle the Tapeta surface, and that piece of form is probably the best on offer.
I’m hopeful Mick Appleby will be among the winners at Catterick and BERTIE MOON (2.30) makes plenty of appeal in the 1m 4f claimer.
He returned from a 57-day absence to run Serenity Now close at Southwell just 11 days ago and that run should have sharpened him up for today. Bertie Moon has plenty of past winning form on turf and his prominent style of racing is well suited to Catterick’s tight track.
Lester Kris has his first start for Ben Haslam since leaving Richard Hannon and holds Riviere Argentee on their running in a Saint-Cloud claimer last autumn.
Appleby saddles IT MUST BE FAITH (4.40) in the Veterans’ Handicap and the top weight could hardly be in better nick.
After scoring at Wolverhampton in March he returned there to run third to The Amber Fort under his revised mark. Appleby sent him on a winning mission to Guernsey last Monday and It Must Be Faith is well berthed in stall one for 5lb claimer Jane Elliott.
A couple at Windsor will hopefully put the icing on a profitable start to York week, namely AIRMAX (4.40) and JAMES WATT (5.50).
Airmax has his first start in a handicap and the merit of his fourth to useful Mr Marrakech at Kempton in mid-April was well advertised when that winner scored again in better class at Chelmsford City last week. Airmax was quite well found in the betting market at Kempton (4-1), suggesting he had been showing something in his homework.
James Watt is owned by Men Fae The Clyde (the Bryceland brothers from Greenock) and they had the money down when the colt made his debut at Brighton. James Watt ran green for the first couple of furlongs but once Hayley Turner got him organised he powered clear of Wedding Date. That form looks strong in light of Wedding Date’s pulverising victory for Richard Hannon at Chester last week.
Mick Channon has been firing in plenty of juvenile winners and Big Boots will be no pushover on the evidence of an emphatic Bath victory, despite having to concede 3lb to James Watt.

John, I remember when you mentioned Harzand to win the derby, which he duly did. After Hazapour victory today, he has been cut from 33/1 into 14/1/. Hazapour is a nephew to Harzand and trained by Dermot Weld who trained Harzand. I think he will the derby John.
I think JohnB tipped Idaho when Harzand won.

No odds on shots today for us dude?
I’ve never put an odds on shot up.
Find one if you can.
When bookies see I’ve tipped horses they make them odds on, lol.
Ok man i found jens boy 8.30 tow. Do you think this will win?
None have shown any reasonable form so its only 4-6 because its trained by Henderson.
Leave alone I reckon.
I got 10-11. The winner of jens boys race has proved to be decent and this race looks weak. I have gone big and will go in again at the off if the horse looks good. Cheers anyway and you need to find a new bookie if 4-6 is all you got offered
You had a crafty dig about tipping odds on shots which was unfounded then openly admit to doing one BIG yourself .
Each to their own I guess and and better a 10-11 winner than a 10-1 loser isnt it.
good luck with jen later.
Nowt wrong with an odds-on shot if it wins.
Cheers man lets hope he wins for us.

Lucky show if you want to know if a horse will win ask john or the plugg your asking the wrong people that is nothing against elvis. I think that horse will win just out of intrest.
Lucky shoe i mean
I can ask who i want dude. Plug isnt on and johnb will be sick of getting stupid questions on here
No need to single out elvis, especislly simce he is one of the most comsistent tipsters, in terms of winners, always can give reasoning too, can tell he is genuinely interested in the sport and if you dont appreciate his presence, you shouldnt even be gambling.
I wasnt singling him out in a bad way. I think elvis works on here or some kind of involvement he is on the football and racing sites almost all day long. I know he contributes.
Elvis contributes freely like many others. He doesn’t work on here – if he did we’d tell you.
