QUITE an interesting and varied week ahead, with the three-day Craven meeting at Newmarket in midweek, followed by Ayr’s Scottish Grand National fixture.
The Flat turf season has gone off like a damp squib and we’ve three moderate jumps meetings on heavy ground to contend with again today.
BADDESLEY KNIGHT (5.30) should give us a run for our money in the Plumpton bumper. Chris Gordon’s gelding chased home the Nicky Henderson-trained Morning Vicar at Newbury which sets a reasonable standard.
Hot favourite Irish Odyssey hacked up at Fontwell from the moderate Dancing Doug (runs in opener) and has a 7lb penalty to carry.

I think a mention for the plug in the above write up should have been there.
Top notch tipping from that man.
Shows over 5-00 plumpton nap 2-1
Well done the plug. Just back in.
I’m sorry but it’s not easy to keep up with all the comments.
Nice one Mr f.
Always nice to see one of the ground troops getting recognition for his efforts.
True elvis! On fire
540 Newcastle
I set out writing this with Eastview Boy in mind, that has changed a couple of times. Favourite DEDIGOUT lost for me recently and hasnt won in over 3 years. PISTOL returned from a 10 week break to win a class 4 off 104 over 3f less on heavy going, he subsequently finished 3rd in a class 3 event on better ground after a 9lb hike. In Feb 17 he won a similar race off 120 and his most recent win accounts for todays rivals Barrys Jack and War Joey, only 2 places but a potential good ew shout. A win for ANIKAM would be a massive shock but stablemate EASTVIEW BOY has a chance if handling the extra 3f in tough conditions. He seems to be Kirby’s only chance on the card and he teamed up woth Tommy Dowson yesterday for a winner which may be a good thing. However, Arctic Vodka is unexposed, up in class with 7lbs more to shoulder wont be an easy task in these conditions, even for a mud lover. Kirby sending two to face AV, a horse who beat his Hangaard recently by 4l msy prove noteworthy, however if BEHINDTHELINES turns up in the 440, he will be the horse I go with.

Amedeo Modigliani likely to miss the Derby having suffered a setback ??
We still have a good one with Nelson and at 33/1
That’s ante-post for you ,risk v reward GL
Clemmie could miss 1000 Guineas
Clemmie had a hold-up last month and is only back walking. It’s possible that the Newmarket Guineas might come too soon for her and we might decide to aim her at the Irish 1,000 with possibly a race before then. Her brother, Churchill, got a mile but only just, so there are no guarantees that she will get the distance. If she doesn’t then we can always drop her in trip. She showed last season that she has plenty of speed, winning the Duchess of Cambridge and the Cheveley Park”.
Amedeo Modigliani “has had a setback and is only walking and trotting. We’re going gently with him and won’t be forcing him. He mightn’t be ready for the Classics and most likely it will be the second half of the season for him. He’s a smart colt and we like him He belongs in the ‘could be anything’ category.
Cheers D C and theplug ?

The Pllug your something special. You and doublecarpet are levels above on here.
Unbelievable with Clemmie. Why is it always the best horses that get setbacks. I am rightly sick at this stage. Bristol de mai withdrawn from the gold cup, Santos nowhere is Australia and now Clemmie.
Absolutely worst piece of betting in my life time. Alfie Spinner drifted to 6s aka never going to win. I did £10 doubles with Ballycross, Alan’s and Brother Bennet who came into 4s from 8s. I never cash out! Yet before the off I cashed out the double for a £3 loss, put £15 on Horatio Hornblower. Then in running I smashed £130 on Alfie and my main man STD came and romps me, Alan’s and Brother Bennet will probably win now for what would’ve been £500. Sickening.
As I said sickening, serves me right though, who cashed out before a horse even runs and for a £3 loss two. That’s a £200 down the drain with BOG Close to £700 if Alan’s pick comes in. Stuck £77 on the single out of desperation.
My initial pick Eastview in the 540 has seen money yet Arctic Vodkas form has been boosted, 2\2 in Yankee with Alan’s and Eastview left to run. Looks like it’s all or nothing and then that will be me, too impulsive and greedy for this game.
Well a sickening day turns into good profit. Lost a potential £700 with a bad cash out but one of my biggest rollercoaster days ends with 4/4, big thanks to Alan, also had plug and DC’s Davy Russ pick. Cheers.
Alan

Come on to post exactly that DC. Looksnowlikebrian 9/4.
The same can be said for Willie and Paul Townend at Tramore, Willie has 2 on the card, and Paul has one, Winter Soldie4 11/10.
Add SDS and Channon’s Abig fav MOBSTA 11/8 and we coukd be onto a good thing.
For the yankee, you may want to add a better priced horse, Mumgots Debut 5/1 in the 410k or opt for one of Mark Johnstons at Windsor, Blown by Wind 10/3. If you want a more locked up prospect, look at an O’Brian horse at Lep.
Feel free to put this in 2moros thread for me if anyone deems it relevent.
With regards to clemmie, might and could are the important words so there is still a chance
It’s 3 weeks today so with her only just back walking it’s more likely she won’t run but even the slimmest of chances is still a chance
