DAPPER MAN (5.30) beat some in-form sprinters at Catterick last week and is strongly fancied to follow-up just down the A1 at Wetherby.
Roger Fell’s gelding hosed up by almost four lengths on his previous visit to the track and stall eight isn’t insurmountable on this turning five furlongs. Dapper Man was tucked in just off the pace at Catterick and similar stalking tactics are likely to be employed.
BECKER (3.15) has a better pitch (stall four) in the other 5f handicap and will be hard to knock out of the frame if taking to turf following two victories on the all-weather at Kempton and Chelmsford City.
Betfair will provide a clue to Karl Burke’s expectations when he unleashes newcomer LADY ANNALEE (2.40) in the 1m 2f Fillies’ Novice Stakes.
She is a well-bred filly, being a half-sister to the very smart Shalaa, and these colours have been carried to success by some useful sorts in the past. The southern raiders look no great shakes and may be worth opposing.
