BENGAL LANCER (4.20) has been holding his form well and should play a prominent role in an intriguing 7f handicap at Ascot.
His young jockey kicked for home a long way out on testing ground at Doncaster last time and was a sitting duck for impressive winner Lahore but Bengal Lancer bravely held on for second.
Mukalal takes a tug and often leads so Bengal Lancer should be able to sit on his shoulder and make the best of his way home from the furlong pole.
Tribute Act flopped at Goodwood but had previously looked a progressive filly. This flatter track should see her in a better light. Graphite Storm is up 5lb for his Leicester victory but also enters the equation in an open contest.
If all eight runners going to post I'll be having a hefty ew bet on Bengal Lancer at odds or around 5-1.
The 1m 6f Noel Murless Stakes sees Mount Moriah installed as quite a strong favourite following two solid placed efforts behind Order Of St George in the Irish St Leger and Crystal Ocean in the Gordon Stakes at Goodwood.
I was surprised to see RAHEEN HOUSE (3.45) trading as big as 11-2 last night as he ran well enough in the St Leger until his stamina ran out. He beat Desert Skyline in the Group 3 Bahrain Trophy at Newmarket and that horse came out and won the Doncaster Cup. Brian Meehan has been among the winners and I can see Raheen House outrunning his odds under a 3lb penalty.
On To Victory has impressed on soft ground this season and landed the odds at Salisbury. This looks a bit tougher but the betting market suggests otherwise.
