AKKADIAN EMPIRE (2.20) will be difficult to knock out of the frame at Southwell and rates a cracking each-way bet at odds of around 13-2.
Iain Jardine's gelding split Brotherly Company and Luv U Whatever here in mid-January, with Ingleby Spring back in fifth. Luv U Whatever came out and landed a gamble at Chelmsford City last week and Jamie Gormley can still claim 3lb off Akkadian Empire back in this apprentices' contest.
Star Ascending is on a hat-trick and thrives on the Fibresand. The handicapper will catch up with his one day and a 6lb penalty for last week's success makes life tougher.
Leonard Thomas was a head behind Star Ascendency when they met here last month and is 10lb better off.
Stamina will play a huge part in the 2m 2f handicap and CAGED LIGHTNING (2.55) has run well enough over distances up to three miles over hurdles to suggest he could be the answer to this intriguing contest.
Steve Gollings has booked 5lb claimer William Cox and Caged Lightning has shown winning form on the Fibresand in the past, scoring off today's mark over 1m 6f.
MISTER MUSIC (4.00) sprung a 33-1 shock on his last trip to Southwell and should make a bold bid to follow up.
Apprentice Aled Beech delivered his challenge from quite well off the pace that day and the race is sure to be run at a fierce gallop with the likes of Queens Royale and Angel Palanas in the line-up.
Queens Royale is held by Mister Music on their last run, while the free-running Angel Palanas goes a furlong further this time.
Sooqaan drops back in trip after his recent facile success over a mile and has been raised 10lb.

I see twiston davies has made the sensible decision to pull Bristol de mai out of the gold cup and grand national and is aiming for the more winnable betway bowl at aintree.
If the gold cup was at Haydock on heavy ground he would be right in with a shout, but it isn’t so there you go.
You would think he would have been kept in in case of a few monsoons before gold cup day but obviously twisty doesn’t think he can win.
Anyone know why he has been pulled out ??
He’s blaming poor run in the Cotswold Chase.
3-25 southwell is practically a jumper bumper as most seem to have been running over the sticks recently.
Coeur de lion is my pick 15-8, based on his recent flat form but like the other jumps horses haven’t run on sand before so won’t be lumping on.
Also fancy mixboy 4-6 and st Mary’s 8-11 to finish top 3 so might do a cheeky tricast.
Just this dire meeting today, guess this is why all weather was introduced so should be grateful I guess.
There is too much all weather when there is no need for it, but that’s another debate.
Coeur won, got 15-8
Mixboy placed 2nd.
St Mary’s downed the tricast
Tricasts order of the day,
Race 1: 1-2-7 & 1-5-10
Race 2: 7-1-10 & 5-3-7
Race 3: 1-2-6 & 2-1-7 & 2-3-7
Race 4: 1-6-8 & 1-2-4
Race 5: 1-2
Race 6: 4-5

Well in alan, winner and 2 places, doubled my investment.
Tomorrow I like
Nefyn bay in 4-30 musslebrough odds 5-2.
Won here in a chase last time on only course start.
Trainer mc Cain going well and sends this a long way up north.
Races in today’s hurdle off 4lb lower than recent chase win.
His daughter takes another 7 lb off and the rest look a dull bunch.
