THE hottest ticket in town just now is undoubtedly Oisin Murphy and he has struck up a winning partnership with David Simcock.
The deadly duo landed a brace at Wolverhampton on Monday with Maximinius Thrax and Veena, coming on top of last week's Southwell scorer New World Power.
Their golden run should continue at Lingfield courtesy of POWER AND PEACE (1.45) and SOUL SILVER (2.50).
Power and Peace is no star but she has been found what looks a very weak novice auction stakes. The filly has just denied at Wetherby last season and hasn't been seen since running third at Kempton in September. Stall three is ideal and she can win at short odds.
Soul Silver has a bit of ground to make up on Star Quality on their Wolverhampton run behind Stellar Surprise. However, Star Quality was able to dictate a modest pace before quickening in the straight, while Soul Silver is 8lb better off and Murphy won on her twice last season, at Newbury and Kempton.
Joseph O'Brien is making fairly regular UK raids these days and he saddles four interesting runners. The best of his quartet could be GREY WATERS (2.15) in the Betway Stayers' Handicap.
She beat market rival Author's Dream at Kempton and is now 4lb better off. Stout stayer Grey Waters did well to finish fourth in a Grade 2 hurdle at Leopardstown on Boxing Day and with free-running Bertie Moon in the line-up a decent gallop looks assured.
Author's Dream dotted up by 11 lengths at Wolverhampton last month but has paid the price with a 10lb hike in his handicap rating.
O'Brien's other runners are HIGHLY APPROVED (1.10) and Aibell/Dream Point (3.55).
Highly Approved, the mount of Fran Berry, ran fourth in a hot Dundalk nursery, with the other five horses around her all rated in the mid to high 70s. A first-time tongue-tie is fitted and this maiden handicap is there for the taking if she can overcome a potentially tricky draw in stall 11.
O'Brien is doubly represented in the last, a fillies' maiden, and AIBELL is probably the pick.
She finished a neck behind stablemate Ship of Dreams at Dundalk when they finished third and fourth respectively to a 79-rated winner of the Aka Khan's. Ship of Dreams came out to win by more than two lengths next time, so the form appears solid.
Aibell is better drawn than Dream Point, three places behind her in that Dundalk contest but clearly open to improvement. There are a couple of Godolphin horses in opposition and it will be interesting to see how the market shapes up.

@Mrfixit I think he also tipped Purser in the 2000 guineas @25/1
Actually I never tipped Purser, I said I had backed him myself, which is exactly the same as Gleneagles a few years back, I backed him I fancied him but never tipped him either
The man’s a legend for these and we must not forget that
