IT'S something of a low-key Saturday and I won't be going mad ahead of some competitive action over the New Year holiday.

The jumps cards will be run on desperate ground so my bigger bets are lined up for Lingfield where LINE OF BEAUTY (1.10) has found a golden opportunity to lose her maiden tag.

Simon Crisford's filly has been pretty consistent at a modest level and this is a basement maiden. Normally, a rating of 70 would not be good enough but Line Of Beauty was only collared close by Wicker in a better contest at Chelmsford City.

She should stay the extra two furlongs and stall five is perfect for a positive ride from Rab Havlin.

ATTAIN (3.30) is no great shakes but Archie Watson's decision to enlist cracking 7lb apprentice Nicola Currie gets his gelding in with an attractive weight.

The eight-year-old finished third to Miss Minuty last time and fourth horse Ingleby Spring scored at Southwell yesterday.

At a bigger each-way price, ELYSIAN FIELDS (2.55) will enjoy this significant drop in grade in the Class 4 handicap.

Amanda Perratt has slipped Elysian Fields into Class 4 company following a decent fourth to Hajaam in a Class 2 event over course and distance last Saturday. Stall 11 isn't idea and I missed the very early 11-1 available yesterday. Elysian Fields has been dropped 2lb and remains decent value at around 7-1.

At Newbury, KILBRICKEN STORM (3.00) looks quite a big price at 11-4 on the back of his super victory over Count Meribel at Cheltenham ywo weeks ago.

There was a yawning gap of 54 lengths back to smart Equus Secretus and Kilbricken Storm scored by 26 lengths on his previous start at Wincanton (soft). As long as that last tough race at Cheltenham hasn't left its mark, he will be hard to beat.

ROCKLANDER (3.35) faces three rivals in the novices' chase and makes a quick reappearance after his first-fence mishap at Doncaster a fortnight ago.

The eight-year-old had come home 53 lengths clear in a beginners' chase on his previous start at Ludlow and stamina shouldn't be an issue as Rocklander ran Cogry to a neck over three miles at Cheltenham 12 months ago.

DIABLE DE SIVOLA (1.50) seems handily weighted in the 2m 4f handicap and comes here on the back of a running-on fourth to Coole Cody at Cheltenham's big November fixture when well supported.

The four-year-old finished fifth to Flying Tiger in the Fred Winter Juvenile Handicap and this is less competitive.

Haydock will be a mudbath and my only recommendation is an each-way punt on FINGERONTHESWITCH (1.35).

After chasing home hotpot Prime Venture on desperate ground at Ffos Las, Fingerontheswitch was turned out again 13 days later over course and distance when not disgraced (sixth) behind new staying sensation Sam Spinner.

The handicapper has dropped him 3lb and James King takes off 5lb. Neil Mulholland has given him a nice wee break and at 11-1 he looks a better horse than several horses priced up much shorter.

I'll be gutted if Isaacstown Lad defies top weight as he carried a lumpy bet last Saturday when falling here under very similar conditions.

      I don’t ban anyone – that’s up to admin.
People who add nothing to the thread and just moan about the racing tips should be banned in my opinion.
