BARTHOLOMEU DIAS (3.10) is an interesting runner in the median auction maiden on Wolverhampton’s Easter Monday card.
The colt ran a stormer when fourth to September in the Chesham Stakes at Royal Ascot but failed to land the odds at Yarmouth when third to Barford.
Bartholomeu Dias hasn’t been seen since that August disappointment but remains a horse of some potential. Trainer Charlie Hills has been quiet but his team could be ready to roll now the Flat season is slowly kicking into gear.
Bartholomeu Dias receives a valuable 7lb from Morning Skye. Hugo Palmer’s colt edged out Sportswriter on debut at Newcastle and the runner-up was pipped in another photo finish at Lingfield, this time by Godolphin’s Beautiful Memory. That horse is rated 90 which sets a fairly high standard.
It will be interesting to see how BARCA (2.35) goes in the betting. The colt had his first run for Seamus Durack at Lingfield when never sighted in a better event than this and has since had a wind operation.
Barca was placed three times in maiden company for Aidan O’Brien last season off an official Irish rating of 77. Barca races off 66 today so his chance is there for all to see if he’s the same sort of horse.
Baz is another tumbling down the ratings and wears a first-time visor but course and distance winner Seven Clans is 12lb higher since that victory last January.
Music Major was beaten a neck on his only run at Wolves two seasons ago and won’t be far away. ACADIAN ANGEL (4.20) looks a heavenly each-way bet in the finale. John Quinn’s filly is one of the few in the line-up whose rating is actually going down and she is well handicapped on last year’s winning run at Doncaster.
Arcadian Angel was quite well fancied here nine days ago but reared and blew the start in the race won by favourite Nezar.
Her preceding effort when fourth to Made Of Honour and Pattie in a Class 3 fillies’ handicap over course and distance in mid-March was a solid show and Acadian Angel is 5lb lower today. Stall one is ideal as long as she doesn’t repeat her rearing antics and Luke Morris takes the mount on this hold-up performer.

Gordon Elliot has 13 runners in the irish national.
what a joke this is becoming.
anyone know which order the 13 jockeys pick their mounts ?
anyone know the stables no1 hope.
its like 6000 Persians firing all those arrows at the 300 Spartans then watching them drop one by one until they are wiped out.
this is what will become of the traditional irish trainers if these super powers are allowed to saturate these races in this manner.
last I say on this, but it will give me so much pleasure if a non Elliot\mullins wins the race.
unfortunately I did 13 year old bless the wings ante post ew at 40-1, and also top 5 finish at 7-2 at paddy power, 2nd last 2 years, and didn’t get far at Cheltenham so should be fairly fresh if the fall hasn’t left its scars. a few 13 year olds have won races recently so you never know.
he won the cross country at Cheltenham in December thrashing tiger roll amongst others so still holds his form well enough.
its trained by Elliot so I will forgive him if it gets placed, lol…..
at least they are with six different owners, the only problem is Gigginstown with 10 runners and it’s not really their fault, it’s the fault of everyone else in racing for letting it happen
Sayar in the 2:45 looks a really nice e/w bet to me haven’t contributed for a while but guna start trying to put Some tips up again will post couple more later but at 8/1 sayar looks like a cracking bet imo.

Cracking card at Fairyhouse today but it’s had that much rain it’s going to be tough for them out there today. Will probably need a horse that stays 6m to win the National. But at least it goes ahead
The first race is a complete minefield so just a small ew on Quamino who won well lto.

Maybe I see his last race differently to most but if it hadn’t been for the loose horse IS would surely have either won or come very close to beating Poormans Hill. That race was over 3m 4f and back to 3m today and 8lbs better off I’m not surprised IS has seen money come for him. Hopefully that race hasn’t taken too much out of him

Lovely day ruined by the weather. ATs Barca now 11/1 from advised 4s. Suggests he wont be winning but still must be worth an ew shout. Wolves placepot (£8): 6 8 1 1 2 1 7 or more lucrative (£2) : 10 8 2 10 3 1 6.

John, interesting you tip forever gold. The trainer came out yesterday to say he has a good chance at 50/1, that was yesterday.
Not seen it and every other trainer has probably said something similar about their horses, I know people have told me that Gordon Elliott has mentioned a different horse on different sites
not many horse have actually won over the national distance. Personally i think folsom blue will win after his victory over 3m 4f on heavy
Just one for me today.

Great few days.?
Have to agree with Chapman FOLSUM BLUE surely robbed there.
John, what do you know about sire Goldwell apart from the fact he is a brother to Montjue?
Stood at Coolmore and Sired a few decent horses in Holywell, Sausalito Sunrise, Johns Spirit and Grand Jesture who was bought by Alan Potts for €200,000 and point to pointer Mr Watson who Jonjo O’Neill bought for 215,000 Guineas and obviously the Irish Grand National winner General Principle and placed Forever Gold but there were a total of three horses sired by Gold Well in today’s Irish Grand National
One of giggitys horses crossed over to make life difficult for folsom blue
Nice shout with the nap Jb, struggled to see race in conditions but cheers all he same, maybe mixed up horses in the run in so need 2 see a replay but were we unlucky after events at the last??
He wasn’t helped at the last as Bellshill and Arkwrisht crossed him causing a slower jump but he rallied well and was closing all the way to the line, my opinion is two more strides and he would have won but other horses were also unlucky so very happy with a place
