KASHMIRI SUNSET (4.10) can keep the Iain Jardine bandwagon rolling along by scooping a competitive 2m handicap on York's Sunday card.

Formerly with Gordon Elliott, Kashmiri Sunset has settled in well at Carrutherstown and I liked his last run behind Renfrew Street at Carlisle.

The winner got first run that day and poached a healthy lead. Kashmiri Sunset tried manfully to reduce the deficit but to no avail, with six lengths back to the third horse.

Renfrew Street came out at Chelmsford City last week and ran a terrific race off a 6lb higher rating, beaten a neck by Chocolate Box after again stretching her field.

One of Kashmiri Sunset's main rivals today, course and distance winner Graceful Lady, had previously won at Chelmsford City off 62, whereas Renfrew Street was racing off 82 last week, suggesting Kashmiri Sunset's Carlisle race was a stronger event.

The seven-year-old mare Attention Seeker has suddenly clicked and she is not easily overlooked chasing a hat-trick. Trading at 6-1 I've had a solid ew bet on Kashmiri Sunset.

My other bet is INDIAN CHIEF (2.30). You will go a long time before seeing an easier winner than Indian Chief at Hamilton last Tuesday, with Danny Tudhope sitting as still as a mounted policemen hacking down Sauchiehall Street.

Rebecca Bastiman's gelding strolled home by seven lengths and the more rain the better. A 6lb penalty in a higher grade makes things tougher but most of his opponents are well exposed and not too well handicapped.

Considering Indian Chief ran Taxmeifyoucan to a neck at Hamilton in early August under the burden of 10st 2lb, last night's early price of 4-1 in places looks very fair.

Recommended Bets

  • York – Kashmiri Sunset (4.10) – 6-1, bet365
  • York – Indian Chief (2.30) – 4-1, McBookie

Kashmiri Sunset ran a howler. I’ll take a little break on the back of that disappointment and leave you boys to give me a winner at Perth tomorrow. Tally ho

That’s why I don’t envy the headline tipsters.
When tipping every day maybe tips are put up that maybe aren’t that strong but feel obliged to put up for thread purposes.

Enjoy your break Alan and just put tips up when you feel strong about a horse I reckon.

No one is under pressure to tip every day “for thread purposes”. That doesn’t happen.

Correct, but like yourself last week, you had a couple of no bet days instead of putting summat up for the sake of it.
I wasn’t suggesting he was under pressure, just saying that if nowt takes Alan’s fancy, same with John b, then no shame in taking a break to recharge.
