Alan Thomson’s Racing Tips: Paparazzi can be picture perfect

ALAN landed another couple of winners on Monday and is tipping Paparzzi to click smoothly into action on Tuesday.

Newcastle 4.10

PAPARAZZI (4.10) hammered Zodiakos over course and distance last week and should handle a 6lb penalty at Newcastle. Formerly trained by Joseph O’Brien, the four-year-old has run consistently on the all-weather for Tracy Waggott and he looked a different horse last week when arriving late on the scene off a strong gallop. Paparazzi will need to be tucked in from stall one and, hopefully, they will go a decent clip up front. 

Ayr 1.25

QUEENS CAVE (1.25) has been sent a long way by David Pipe for her hurdling debut and she will go off a short price at Ayr. Queens Cave split a very useful pair in Queenohearts and Posh Trish in a Listed bumper at Sandown last March and is clearly a smart prospect. 

Ayr 2.0

Connections of LAS TUNAS (2.00) must have been gutted when he came to grief two out with the race in the bag here last week and they certainly deserve compensation. 

Ayr 2.35

IMADA (2.35) goes chasing relatively late in life but the nine-year-old will have been well schooled by Nicky Richards. Imada has an excellent record at Ayr, winning a bumper and novice hurdle before chasing home Our Lucas in March. He was last spotted at Market Rasen in early December when running third to Jam Session. 

Ayr 3.10 

CORNBOROUGH (3.10) is a consistent sort under both codes and although he goes best at Wetherby, he did win a maiden hurdle on his only visit to Ayr three years ago. He has had a 54-day break since beating Golden Jeffrey.
