WILLIE MULLINS (2.55) isn’t a name you readily associate with Bath but the Irish maestro sends over TRUE SELF (2.55) to contest the Listed race for fillies and mares.

True Self strolled home by nine lengths in an ordinary maiden at Cork last time and this winning hurdler has plenty of form on the prevailing soft ground. Garmarley is the form pick on her fifth to God Given in the Group 2 Park Hill Stakes at Doncaster but has never encountered a testing surface.

The track is also soft at Nottingham and ELASIA (4.05) is taken to confirm Goodwood form with Fire Jet, winner of this 1m 6f handicap last year.

The 1m 2f handicap is very competitive but perhaps COLLIDE (3.35) deserves another chance after proving a disappointing favourite at Ayr’s big September meeting. The son of Frankel could finish only fourth to Mafaaheem but may have got bogged down in the mud that day. Hugo Palmer’s colt had previously scored readily at Hamilton and Carlisle on yielding ground.

Recommended bets

  • Bath 2.55 – True Self (9-2, bet365)
  • Nottingham 4.05 – Elasia (7-4, Ladbrokes)
  • Nottingham 3.35 – Collide (11-2, bet365)

Not a tip but Jim ewarts only runner, last 2 wins been c&d , and won 3 from 3 in completed finishes at wetherby, others have fitness edge and a watching brief, had a dabble at 6-5 for top 3 finish for interest.
