MUJASSAM (3.30) won with so much in hand at Hamilton last Tuesday that he has every chance of following up under his penalty at Musselburgh.
David O’Meara has the six-year-old at the very top of his game on the prevailing quick ground and two days before his Hamilton success Mujassam ran Zylan to a neck over Beverley’s extended seven furlongs.
Sureyoutoldme looks the main threat on his second to Jacob Black over course and distance, although Our Charlie Brown has never run a bad race at Musselburgh (form figures of 1-1-2-3 from four appearances). Tommy G won well at Ayr 11 days ago but is up 5lb in possibly slightly better grade.
JACOB BLACK (4.00) likes it around here and he ran a terrific race at Carlisle when chasing home First Ladies after losing many lengths at the start. Hopefully that was a one-off as Jacob Black is usually quick out of the gate. Connections wouldn’t have been pleased with another 3lb rise for getting beat but he should remain competitive back at his favourite haunt.
Linda Perratt has trained several good horses over the years but she is enduring lean times. It would be a huge relief for her loyal supporters to see her back in the winner’s enclosure and Lucky Violet represents the yard’s best chance for some time. The mare was beaten just over five lengths when third to Jacob Black over course and distance in early May and is now a whopping 25lb better off, not taking Rachel Richardson’s 3lb claim into account. Lucky Violet ran well at Ayr and is given a chance along with Mywayistheonlyway and Chinese Spirit.
BREAKWATER BAY (3.00) has been found a suitable opening by Tim Easterby and a repeat of his battling second to Indian Vision at Redcar would be good enough to land this very modest 2m handicap. The gelding tried to make all and was only beaten on the nod (pair clear). Jan Smuts was almost six lengths back in fourth and a bigger danger is likely to be posed by Gran Maestro.
The 1m 4f handicap is similarly pretty dire and IBERICA ROAD (4.30) should win if putting his best foot forward. The five-year-old finished fourth to Bit Of A Quirke in a blanket finish at Beverley last time and his earlier fourth to Framley Garth at Doncaster was another solid effort.
Falcon’s Fire rediscovered some old form when caught close home by the gambled-on Auxiliary at Hamilton and similar forcing tactics will have many of these rivals in trouble some way out. Ballyfarsoon is more of an all-weather entity but isn’t without a squeak if this turns into a stamina test.

ISHEBAYORGREY 6:30 Bellewstown 4/1. Simply irresistible form of last race when 2nd. The winner won a listed race, the 4th( Settle for bay) blew in at Royal Ascot, the fifth and sixth both absolutely skated in next time. A real solid form race, must go close!
Was beaten a short distance yesterday so pot is +4.4

John will Kyrgios and Raonic ever win wimbledon or a grandslam?
My 2 cents notorious… NO
An Kyrgios? Hope not the boys attitude is awful.
Kyrgios could but I have always said on here that although anyone can win one slam Raonic wouldn’t as he hasn’t got the right mentality, that was a statement I got slated for but he still hasn’t won a slam
An Krygios has the right mentality John? Guy throws towels at ball girls and said only plays tennis cause it pays the bills basically.
