MOTAHASSEN (4.50) is right at home on a soft surface and conditions should be ideal at Hamilton Park.
Declan Carroll’s gelding was jumped out in front by Jason Hart and ran his field ragged at Carlisle. Motahassen was raised 4lb for that victory but Ger O’Neill’s 5lb claim safely takes care of that imposte.
OROBAS (5.20) was a disappointing 11-10 favourite last time but was ridden by an inexperienced amateur. The gelding is better judged on his success at Nottingham three days earlier and Harry Burns takes off 7lb.
The Flower of Scotland Fillies’ Handicap always attracts southern stables and William Haggas has boxed up BEAUTY FILLY (6.55). She has hit the crossbar this season over longer distances and this stiff six furlongs should suit. Her only victory came at Yarmouth on debut last September when beating Flying Sparkle a length. Michael Bell’s filly reopposes and is better off at the weights. On the debit side, she has not been seen since an ordinary fourth at Windsor (fast ground) in June.
TAKE A TURN (5.55) should give a good account of himself in the 1m 3f handicap. David Lanigan’s raiders do well here and Take A Turn was a dual winner on good to soft last season. His last run at Newmarket came in slightly better class and he should stay this extra furlong.
The twilight card ends with a very interesting 1m 4f novice stakes. Roger Varian’s TOLKYN (7.25) sets a reasonable, but not insurmountable, standard with an official rating of 80. She was a beaten favourite in a blanket finish at Chepstow over this evening’s distance and has been sent a long way for a recovery mission.
Lady Annalee very much caught the eye at Wetherby back in late April, looking a picture in the paddock and running well enough behind John Gosden’s Award Winning to hint there was better to come. Karl Burke has probably been waiting for this softer ground and the betting market could be quite lively.

Good morning all and Mr F,
Just checking with Mr Fix-it if the customer who sent the screenshot in with VOV’s winning treble had cashed out the £1544+ ?
It seems Latrobes chances look slim in running in the St Leger as the odds have drifted considerably.
Awaiting the weekends horse racing and football as the next 2 days seem poor.
Cheers
