ORMESHER (5.15) has revelled on soft ground over hurdles, winning both starts at Uttoxeter and Cartmel, and will have conditions in his favour now returned to the flat at Pontefract.
Donald McCain’s gelding beat subsequent Perth scorer Ghost Serge at Cartmel and looks thrown in off his new flat rating of 63.

SO NEAR SO FARHH (3.40) had plenty in hand when beating Rubenesque and Angel Gabrial here over 2m 2f 18 days ago and should confirm places with these rivals.

The heavy rain which resulted in a spate of non-runners and rather ruined Saturday’s Ascot card, may well result in several absentees at Windsor where SHOOT FOR GOLD (1.55) can build on a promising debut fifth at Newbury.
Sixth horse Spencers Son was more than three lengths behind my selection and came out and won at Kempton last week. Damon Runyon may be the one to beat.

I will be at stratford races on Monday, am staying in the town until Friday and didn’t know there was a meet there.
Mrs not too pleased and have had to cough up for an early lunch so I can go ?.
