Alan Thomson’s Racing Tips: Landue is due a win

IT'S  a busy Wednesday of racing with six meetings to study for winners. 

Alan's picks run at Kempton and Wolverhampton and good luck all with your bets.

Kempton 7.40

LANDUE endured a very rough passage when sent off a hot favourite at Chelmsford City last week but can put that scary experience behind him on a return to his happy hunting ground at Kempton. The colt was brought to his knees and almost fell in a melee turning for home, but four days earlier Landue had hacked up at Kempton. An action replay is very likely.

Kempton 5.40

FOREST OF DEAN gave Sir Michael Stoute’s 2-7 hotpot Solid Stone a scare at Newcastle a fortnight ago and go one better under Rab Havlin in the 7f novice stakes at Kempton.

Kempton 4.40

OPEN SEA is one of Godolphin’s lesser lights but she may have found her right grade in the nursery. She will find this much easier than her last run at Newcastle when outclassed by impressive Headman (runs 5.10).

Wolverhampton 7.50

MERWEB has been found a good opening on his handicap debut at Wolverhampton. Heather Main’s colt has shown promise in three career starts, chasing home the William Haggas-trained Sweet Nature at Newcastle a fortnight ago. His earlier close third to Sun Hat over course and distance at the end of October has been franked since, with Sun Hat completing her hat-trick at Lingfield last week off an official 78 rating. Merweb races here off 71, with Ben Robinson taking off 3lb. Stall six is fine, so a big run can reasonably be anticipated.
