GRANITE CITY BOY (7.50) is becoming something of a Hamilton regular and could well post another victory there on Saturday evening.
Lucy Normile’s gelding gave southern hotpot Atticus Boy (runs 2.20 Doncaster) a real scare when just caught on the line over course and distance and still remains well treated.
Granite City Boy was beaten two lengths by Regal Mirage here in early May and is 5lb worse off at the weights. However, he has since stripped a good bit fitter and may be able to turn that formline on its head.
Stanley went well in the soft for Jonjo O’Neill and new trainer Keith Dalgleish has inherited what looks a well enough handicapped horse to be dangerous. It will be interesting to see if money comes for his recruit.
FLYING FOCUS (8.20) ran on into third place behind Atticus Boy and the three-year-old will be hard to beat at good odds in the 1m 1f handicap if handling this softer turf.
The Dalgleish yard should be celebrating a local winner with IRON SKY (8.50). The three-year-old dominated through the final furlong when accounting for in-form Inviolable Spirit at Thirsk when there was ease in the ground. A 6lb rise makes life a little harder but he looks up to the job.
NUNS WALK (6.50) goes well when there’s some cut underfoot and Rachel Richardson’s mount should go close in the lady riders’ handicap. Tim Easterby may have a progressive filly on his hands as Nuns Walk was in control from halfway when scoring at Thirsk. She has twice been placed at Hamilton on an easy surface.
Recommended bets
- Hamilton 7.50 – Granite City Boy (5-1, bet365)
- Hamilton 6.50 – Nuns Walk (9-2, bet365)
- Hamilton 8.20 – Flying Focus (6-1, Paddy Power)
- Hamilton 8.50 – iron Sky (2-1, bet365)

Zamjar 2.10 , 2 from 4 at Chelmsford 11/1 ,20/80 GL.
3.55 Truffles 7/2
Did me a nice turn earlier in the week and is surely the selection here today even with 6lbs extra.
He beat Honor Oak 3 1/2L and we seen how easy he won on Weds. He was also 7L ahead of Beau Satchel.
He is drawn in the car park but breaks out of the gates so well I’m not too concerned about that.
Others I’ve backed
4.10 Flindt ew
2nd to Baba Boom earlier in the week 3lbs higher but must have every chance
4.45 Oscar Knight ew (saver on Uradel)
Goes well fresh. Yard in decent form

Well done ?
Great shout by Lossie Jim, only risked £2 on a double but a handsome return from an excellend contribution, loved how it went back out to 10s, market tricks more time than it guides.
Alphaomega had a lovely day too 3 winners, DC had 2 nice places and uncle pom chipped in with 2 winners and a neck 2nd, well done boys!
Also Sir Derrick was out again quick after losing recently when AT tipped him up, and he obliged, so just a note to note horses tipped by the top man as they usually arent far away from a win even if it isnt the day they were tipped up, same goes for JB in years passed too, he may get the day wrong but he posts up solid horses to track.
JohnB’s horses to follow this year from his visit around yards had one JEREMIAH included, I subsequently backed it 3 or 4 times and it has failed to win, he was running in good races I suppose and has looked close on occaision, today he runs in the 400 at Thirsk and I will be giving him another go, perhaps for the last time.
He runs at 1m4f for the first time (ran 1m3 and 1m6) and is back in CLASS 4 company, having been in a C1 race last time and finishing 2nd in a class 2 before that. Stevie Donohue is at New Market for the owner today so we have Danny Tudhope, he is 2/1 fave as of now but up against Multellie a make all winner recently tipped by AT.

3-05 GALWAY PULSING DRAGON 11/2 BEST PRICE I CAN GET
Had him shortlisted last night when 9s but decided to leave it as I was worried about Murtagh’s horse and given his record at the track and weight advantage with the fav I left it.
Probably a wrong choice looking at the market but wish you luck.
just after been talking to the lad that have a share in pulsing dragon ,he said he have a great chance of winning today and also he have a share in quinns red rose in the 2-30 galway he was’nt sure about that one but told me to put a few pound on him 6/1 his dad will will be leading the horse out today

dc big drift on truffles would you be worried
well done DC HOW EASY WAS THAT
You were right about Truffles leaving the gate, absolutely flew out. Very impressive run DC.
Easy as you like for Truffles and lovely drift too
what a training performance by Hugo Palmer with gifted master carrying top weight.
wrote it down never backed it !!!
voice of value had it
sod it !!!
Sorry the man has never been a trainer and never will be, the horse should be winning far far better races than this
John, can you please explain in detail, what it is that you hold against Hugo Palmer? This is the third or fourth time you have had a go at the man.
Alan t tipped it aswell the drift put me off??
Well done alan thomson. Does the business at goodwood in style. 20/1 , 14/1 & 9/2
Back for a day and profit
Hibs in Europe “Its Coming Home”
Your profit came from tipping a horse to finish in the top 4 and 5, said horse achieved this exact feat in this exact race from exactly 10lbs higher the year before, so well done 5 tips, 2 point profit from 4 bets and one to come if anyone missed your input.
Alan thomson wins the last at goodwood to complete a 2520/1 treble . Big thank you . Very well done
Been wondering what youve been talking about all day rog, in conjunction with wondering why alan onky put up 4 hamilton tips, seems admin have screwed me, had no ides he had other tips and it seems a really good day for him.. yet not many have seen it i bet, another typical days racing.
Admin haven’t screwed you – Thommo quite often sends two posts when there’s a Scottish meeting on.
The tips aren’t exactly hidden.
It is my opinion, so yes they screwed me. Tuesday, weds and thursday had just 1 thread with picks all mixed together.. so yes there lack of continuity didnt help and i missed out, if they were AIO i wouldnt have, cheers.
They didn’t screw you – if they wanted to screw you the post wouldn’t have been put up.
There is often two Saturday posts from Alan – and there are many football posts. No one has ever complained about too many posts – too little yes.
Thanks John had growl covered, must admit I did also miss the thread sadly but congrats to all winners
ya i was a bit confused myself with alan putting up two posts so i went with the one DC posted
The posts are clearly marked and there are often multiple ones – in fact with Voice of Value’s there were 3 today.
one for galway tomorrow
