JIM GOLDIE has declared Sir Chauvelin in the opener at Newcastle and yesterday's Musselburgh winner didn't have an overly hard race so it remains to be seen if he takes his chance.
Goldie's horses always seem to run well when Danny Tudhope is booked and besides Sir Chauvelin the yard's LORD OF THE GLEN (6.40) is worth a solid bet in the finale.
This son of former stable stalwart Orientor has really taken to the Newcastle surface, scoring over course and distance in November before being denied by a head under Hollie Doyle on a return visit last month.
Goldie also boxes up recent Newcastle scorer Thello for the mile handicap and he was very impressive when landing a nice touch.
However, at bigger odds Iain Jardine's NEWMARKET WARRIOR (4.10) must be backed each-way. The gelding boasts plenty of track form and gave Thello a beating (by almost two lengths) when they clashed in mid-October.
Newmarket Warrior is 5lb better off and Oisin Murphy is an eye-catching booking.
BLUNDER BUSS (12.30) can kick-start a good day for fancied runners at Ayr's New Year fixture.
Chris Grant's gelding ran a race full of promise at Carlisle when keeping on into third behind Uncle Alistair on deep ground. The winner followed up at Ayr, beating Donna's Delight, and that looks the strongest form on offer in this 2m 4f maiden.
NICEANDEASY (1.00) defends his unbeaten record and this will be his sternest test to date now dropped into a handicap. Keith Dalgleish's gelding is burdened with top weight but he still looked a bit raw when scoring at Hexham and may be open to a bit more improvement.
Course winners Too Many Chiefs and Rivabodiva set a reasonable standard but lack the obvious cope of Niceandeasy.
ONLY ORSENFOOLSIES (2.40) finished second to Desert Cry in the 2m 5f handicap hurdle last year and has excellent prospects of going one better for Micky Hammond.
The gelding was ridden more prominently than usual at Wetherby last tome and Only Orsenfoolsies responded with a game victory. He is up 7lb but that rise is negated by Hugo Thompson-Brown's 10lb allowance.
One For Harry ploughed through the mud to catch in-form Tawseef and rates a threat. Plus Jamais finished third at this meeting 12 months ago and handles soft ground.
Yesterday I had two winners including Boyhood which was advised at 8-1. Well done to Johnb who had two from two.
Any Tuesday tips or comments should be posted here.

Cheers and well done today.
Thanks Mr f, hopefully it’s turning as that’s six winners from my last eight selections
John its no coincidence that the nice double today came with two trainers in tip top form. There have been many times throughout baron spells you have gone with horses who’s trainers haven’t had winners in weeks , hence a shabby run . I implore anyone when having a bet make sure the trainer is having winners. Cold trainers equal cold pockets!! I’m sure alongside Alan you can put the last yr behind you and you can both have winner after winner in 2018!!!
Always worth noting
N McKnight taking horses over to Ayr. Not far away from me this trainer see he has two in our blood and master ruffit. Master ruffit looks a tall order but he may just be over to keep IN OUR BLOOD company. Worth an each way 12.30

No I can’t answer for him but why ask it today? Before today he had three cracking days in a row but you never comment until he has a loser.
I don’t know anyone on here who would put up a tip without doing a bit of research.
Fair enough. Didn’t ask it the other day cause he was bowing out Phil Taylor style and I chose to be complimentary remembering the good days I had. Asked today due to the drift from favouritism on all three. I’ve lost a fortune following all year , I mentioned the other day I had won fortunes at times in the past few years but was always told judge me on a years results, it always comes good. Now I know there is zero guarantees but I’m only asking if there has been a change in method this year. I think that’s a fair question, if not then again fair enough. It’s not something that needs to be answered.
Maybe he will answer it but I don’t think it’s the case. Johnb’s put a decent write-up for almost every pick so he’s spending time looking at them.
One reason we’ve taken him down from being headliner is your original comment. There were too many like that and it wasn’t fair to put that pressure on him in my opinion on what is primarily a football site. Also he was being trolled every day by people although most of those comments didn’t appear and I also receive emails every day criticising him. He’s not paid enough to take that kind of s***.
I didn’t see the question but I think I get the gist of it
There hasn’t been any change in my method or studying, it had just been one of those years
I asked a few people who back horses full time and they too have said last year was a strange year for results and they study differently than me,
All three today drifted badly today which was strange, we are all grown ups so I think we all realise that not every horse tries in a race “which is why I like bigger meetings and Saturdays as pretty much all horses are trying
And in my defence, I have not been negative during any bad run. Despite following every single selection. As I say my choice.
In general too many have been negative – I think it’s just what you don’t need on a bad run.
100% agree. But i am certainly not a troll ! I’ve lost thousands this year but as I keep
Saying it is my choice. I respect the knowledge and insight. Maybe i should have said nothing but it was a genuine question, years and years and profits and went backwards. It could just be luck. Apologies if it came across the wrong way.
I didn’t call you a troll – I just think the comment was bad timing more than anything.
Johnb is now a contributor like anyone else and doesn’t need to justify himself any longer which I believe will improve his results.
Thanks for the reply John, appreciate it
Main tips:
NAP – 3:20 Ludlow – Hedgeinator 5/4 2pt
NB – 5:10 Wolves – Compass Hill 11/2 1pt
Bank (NAP/NB): + 59.37 pt
Trixie:
3:20 Ludlow – Hedgeinator 5/4
5:40 Wolverhampton – Outer Space 13/8
2:10 Southwell – Jack The Truth 1/2
4 x 1 pt (4pt)
Bank (trixie): + 12.35pt
Today we standing in place again! Nap lose, but NB landed so we lose only 0.62 pt. Trixie is bad again so we lose 4 pt. If somone new just to said that trixie is testing on long run so not go high bet for 1pt. For big game NAP/NB is safe and give us solid profit. Well done to all winner today and good luck tomorrow!!!
