Doncaster 2.25

FANAAR (2.25) could manage only a midfield slot behind Red Balloons in the Goffs UK Yearling Stakes at York but stall one was of no assistance to the William Haggas-trained colt.

Judged on his earlier neck second to Marhaba Milliar at Yarmouth, Fanaar is entitled to be competitive in the nursery at Doncaster.

Doncaster 1.50

Charlie Hills has a nice sort in KHAADEM (1.50) and his colt built on a promising debut third to Calyx at Newmarket in early June by romping home from Aquanura, again at HQ, in mid-August.

The son of Dark Angel is bred to handle a bit of ease underfoot, so any rain may well be a bonus.

Doncaster 4.05

LADY BAKER (4.05) stuck out her neck to hold off Maybe Today (pair clear) at Chelmsford City over 1m 5f and Town Moor should suit her aggressive style of racing. Lady Baker found Sextant too strong in a Newbury maiden but could well come into her own now going handicapping.

Last year’s winner What A Home would be worth considering if the ground comes up testing, while a better showing is surely on the cards from Crystal Hope, so disappointing on her return from a break at Salisbury a month ago. However, Lady Baker is the each-way call at a generous 12-1 overnight.

Doncaster 3.35

The ‘Legends’ charity race is usually one to swerve but ZESHOV (3.35) was so impressive at Musselburgh last week that he could well defy top weight under Tony Culhane.
