Hamilton v Hibs
Scottish Premiership, Saturday, December 8, KO 3pm.
THERE are some big prices in the Scottish Premiership this weekend – 16-1 Killie, 10-1 Dundee and 18-5 Hamilton.
I've been asking if anyone has dared to do the treble at around 725-1 – there's no doubt it's worth a quid.
New league leaders Killie head to champions Celtic in the game of the weekend and while Brendan Rodgers has never beaten Steve Clarke's Rugby Park side – two defeats and two draws since the ex-West Brom boss took charge – bookies have written off the visitors.
I think it will be close and have tipped Killie +2. That could also be the bet when Dundee entertain Rangers on Sunday and is almost certainly worth a look when Hamilton welcome a Hibs side who are in a real mess.
Neil Lennon's men have gone eight without a win and couldn't beat bottom two Dundee and St Mirren at home in the past 10 days – both matches finished in 2-2 draws and that was sandwiched by a 3-0 defeat at Kilmarnock.
In fact their last victory was against Accies and it was a thumping 6-0 at Easter Road. Since then they have failed to score against Killie, Aberdeen, St Johnstone and Hearts and Lennon is getting frustrated with misfiring strikers such as Florian Kamberi and Aussie internationals Martin Boyle and Jamie Maclaren.
And it will be a different game on Hamilton's difficult and unpopular plastic pitch with the Accies 18-5 despite home advantage.
The natives are getting restless at Easter Road with Hibs four behind sixth-placed Aberdeen having played a game more.
They were expected to be fighting for third or fourth but lie as close to city rivals Hearts in fourth as Hamilton in 10th.
Accies are a strange side – they often look hopeless then come up with a big result. They followed a cracking 3-1 win at St Mirren last weekend with a shocking 4-0 defeat at Dundee and that sums up their season.
Hibs badly need a win and the HopeCBD isn't the place to go when you are desperate for three points.
This game has been priced wrongly so let's hope we take advantage. It should be about 6-4 each of two so Accies look massive at 18-5 with 888sport. Hibs don't attract at 7-10 while the draw is 13-5.
Going with Accies not to lose at 11-10 with 888sport – and that shouldn't be much bigger than the straight Hibs win.
The only Hibs striker who has scored recently is Oli Shaw and he is 21-4 to net first. Defender Ryan Porteous netted in the draws against Dundee and St Mirren and could be a better option at 9-1 with 888sport to score at any time. An option is deadball expert Stevie Mallan at 13-2 or 15-1 to break the deadlock.
For Accies I'd consider penalty taker Dougie Imrie to net and he is also 9-1.
Recommended Bets
- Hamilton not to lose (11-10, 888sport)
- Imrie to score (9-1, 888sport)
